BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator Review

I have always been fond of bullet style clitoral vibrators, but the majority that I’ve had use disposable batteries, so when the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator was available for review I had to give it a try.

Packaging
The BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator is packaged in a fairly nondescript pink and black cardboard box (excuse the slight postal damage on ours!) with a simple outline image of the vibrator on the front
The rear of the box, by comparison, is absolutely PACKED with information!
A quick run-down of the main points:
- 9 Functions (not mentioned on the box but this consists of 4 speeds and 5 patterns)

- Rechargeable
- Long Lasting
- Storage Case & USB charging cable included (USB charger not included)
- Charge time 2 hours, play time over 2 hours.
There are also a bunch of the usual health & safety disclaimers, and details of the materials used; ABS (bullet) and silicone (button).
This is the first bullet vibe I’ve owned that comes with its own storage case, so I’m interested to see how that is almost as much as I am in the bullet itself!
Unboxing
Inside the box we have… the storage case!
It is actually a really nice little case, if I had one comment it would be that for discretion it would have been nicer to not have a logo printed on it, but overall the case is reasonably solid and feels like good quality.
Unzipping the case reveals the inside of the case (duh!) as well as the USB charging cable and the BMS Essential USB Rechargeable Bullet Vibrator itself.
As can be seen in the photo, the top of the case has a small mesh pocket to hold the USB charging cable in, so this case really does pack everything (apart from a USB adaptor!) away quite nicely.
The bullet itself is wrapped in shrink-wrap plastic, but I would still recommend giving it a wash after unwrapping, just for your own peace of mind.
Initial Thoughts
The case (I know, I know, but I really like the case!), is a nice addition and allows you to keep the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator and its associated USB charging cable nicely located together, meaning none of that rummaging through the drawer trying to work out which cable goes with which toy!
The bullet itself is very simple, and resembles a lot of the regular bullet vibes, with the subtle difference that the end-cap is permanently joined to the vibe rather than being unscrewable.
My only concern at this point is that at just 3″ long it may be a little small to hold, but time will tell.
Charging
As with all rechargeable toys the first task at hand is to charge it.
I must confess, had I not come across this type of charging port before it would have had me a little confused, as there is no obvious way to open it or to remove a cap:
As it turns out, to charge the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator you must (almost sexually!) offer the male jack up to the small hole/indent at the end of the bullet, and the apply some pressure to penetrate it. Ironically perhaps I did find this a little difficult, but a (very small) smear of water based lube around the hole and onto the pin made the penetration a lot easier and meant I could fully insert the charger (into the bullet!). Phew!
Once charged you simply pull-out the charger and the hole closes up as if nothing had ever happened!
Operation
First things first, I hope you didn’t throw your box away (if you did you might want to read on a bit!)
Initially I became a little frustrated with the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator as I could not persuade it to turn on! I tried pressing the button – nothing; I tried holding the button, after a few seconds I got two quick buzzes from the bullet, and then – nothing.
I was about to give up when I happened to press the button again and it sprang into life! It took me a little while to work out (and re-read the box!) that this little bullet has a travel-lock feature to avoid accidental switch-ons.
If you press and hold the button for approximately 4 seconds the vibrator will give two short buzzes in quick succession. This indicates that you have either locked, or unlocked, the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator (unfortunately you cannot tell which).
Once unlocked it is simply turned on by a single press of the button which turns it on at its lowest continuous speed. Each press after then steps it up through 4 different speeds, followed by 5 different patterns, before returning to the speeds.
How it feels
My initial tests of the vibrator struck me with one thought – this thing is POWERFUL! When it first leapt from my hand and went vibrating across the bed sheets it reminded me of a legless version of Hexbugs, and yes, we did have a go at racing it to see which setting would get it buzzing and spinning its way across the bed the fastest!
The BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator is small and mighty, but I would almost say that it is too powerful for its own good. Even just holding it in my fingers it didn’t take long before my fingers were feeling numb from the vibrations; there simply isn’t enough vibrator to separate the powerful ‘business end’ from the end that you are holding.
Ideally it could do with a wider, (and therefore hopefully more vibration-dampening) ‘handle’ end, perhaps with some texture too to give you something to actually hold on to!
Cleaning
Being entirely waterproof I wash the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator with a basic antibacterial cleaner (or specialist sex toy cleaner) before popping it back into its case for another day.
Summary
A great little rechargeable bullet vibe. I love the travel case as it is so discreet and useful for keeping the vibe and its charging cable together.
It is REALLY powerful, which is great, but there is certainly room for improvement. Personally I’d have liked it if the button was a little more defined, as it can be difficult to locate with fingertips that have become numbed by the vibrations, (this might be countered if the ‘handle’ end was larger as described earlier).
I also am not a massive fan of patterns. I know what the manufacturers are trying to achieve, but I much prefer to be in charge myself, building up, finding a plateau and the building again.
This wouldn’t be such an issue if manufacturers had two buttons – one for stepping up, and one for stepping down, but alas the BMS Factory PowerBullet Essential Rechargeable Vibrator like so many others just offers a single button. I find this really distracts me during use as rather than being able to just naturally increase and decrease the speed, I have to spend far too much time thinking about where I am in the settings, then cycle through each of them just to step it down in speed slightly; easy points lost there I’m afraid.
Overall, great. I’ll continue to use it and there is so much I love about it, but a few tweaks and it could be truly amazing!
