Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring Review

I’ve tried a plethora of cock rings before with varying degrees of success; some of the best have been simple and easy to use. The Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring is definitely different to any cock ring I have used before and I was intrigued to see how it worked out.

The main idea behind a cock ring is to basically make everything seem bigger and harder by restricting the flow of blood to the penis. By doing this it also makes certain areas more sensitive, double bonus! Some horrendous, out of the pub toilet vending machine, string like vibrating cock rings just lack the build quality to work properly. The Bathmate Eight isn’t like this at all; straight out of the box I was really surprised at its weight and size! But, I’m getting ahead of myself; first off we need to start at the beginning, which is the packaging!
Arriving in a very neat square box, the packaging offers the normal features: pictures of the product, some important pointers and a rear blurb informing us how good it is! Once into the box, the Cock Ring is packaged very tightly and inside its lovely little storage pouch! Me likey! The pouch is soft and like gorgeous padded netting with a toggle and string to tighten the opening together, keeping everything tucked up safe.
Seems on first looks to be a quality bit of gear (it even has a little Bathmate tag down the stitching, adding the little flash of quality!) The cock ring itself is folded inside the storage pouch and can be quite tricky to get out; the material of the cock ring can ‘stick’ slightly to the material of the bag. Also inside the bag is a 10ml sachet of water based lube (always a bonus) and the vibrating bullet. The charging cable for the bullet and a rather large User Guide are also inside the box.
The User Guide you receive with the Bathmate Eight is a universal one for four of Bathmate’s products; they all use the same bullet vibrator so all share the same user guide. The bullet itself is rechargeable (awesome) and takes about 35 minutes to charge and this charge will give you about an hour of use. Although you are recommended not to wear the cock ring for longer than 15 minutes! The bullet takes an usb charger which plugs directly into a hole above the on/off switch. It has 3 speeds (slow, medium, fast – nothing groundbreaking) and is around about an inch and a half long.
Onto the main event, Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring itself. Once out of its storage pouch it is quite an impressive toy; big, sturdy and weighty. It’s made of a stretchy material that the company call Elastomex and they have constructed it so that the rings have hugely girthy walls, at least an inch thick all around.
The Cock Ring consists of two rings on top of each other with a section in between where you can slip the bullet into, to enjoy the vibrations. Embossed on both sides of the middle section is the company logo, all in all, it looks and feels like a build and design that has been thoughtfully put together. The Elastomex material used works very well, it is firm but is also soft to the touch, it can stretch big enough to comfortably go over your testicles without much discomfort but is rigid enough to really squeeze where you want it to.
To get it into position you need to decide how to wear it, now I wasn’t sure which way to wear it so went with what I thought was the most obvious, top ring around base of penis, bottom ring between testicles and base of penis and bullet underneath the shaft.
There is also the choice having the bottom ring behind the testicles so that the bullet sits above your penis, possibly so your partner can enjoy stronger vibrations during penetration. I found the first way of wearing the Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring the most pleasurable and comfortable.
Using the provided water based lube sachet, or any at hand, make sure you get plenty on yourself and both rings before use. I found the best way to get into position properly would be to slide the top ring down your already erect penis and then stretch the bottom ring over the testicles. If you want to use the bullet, I found that having it semi pushed in before putting the cock ring on to be the most advantageous.
As the on/off switch for the bullet is on its side, if you insert the bullet fully before wearing the cock ring you will have to get it back out enough to switch it on before reinserting, which can be a bit tricky covered in lube.
Once you have the Cock Ring on properly it’s time to step back and have a look at your majestic self… I must admit I was impressed with the ‘presentation’ the first time I wore the rings, with the thick rigid walls squeezing down on the base of the penis, there was a massive difference in visible veins and the head of the penis was almost strained looking, making it visually look much harder.
The testicles meanwhile are pulled away from the base of the penis and bunched together in a constricted feeling bundle of joy, a quite enthralling feeling. One thing I like about a quality cock ring that really keeps things locked in place (which the Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring excels in) is the ability to completely hold the foreskin back. A good slathering of lube is essential for masturbating while using this ring, and the resulting sensations created are outrageous.
Orgasms that were had while wearing the Cock Ring were very intense and obviously made better by the toy; proper toe curlers that you can’t wait to have again.
I preferred to use the Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring without the bullet, using it with the bullet was nice and the vibrations were actually pleasant, but they weren’t strong enough to really add much to the whole experience. I think the thickness of the material actually dampened the vibrations down, sitting behind half an inch of Elastomex is slightly too much.
Wearing the Cock Ring whilst being intimate with a partner also adds a new dimension to penetration, the ring worn around the penis being a big, girthy thing, turns into a bumper. So there is less penis to insert. I found that during sex the ring would force you to have lots of shallower strokes and denied you that ‘balls deep’ stroke. It really created a very passionate session which seemed like a whole lot of teasing each other to orgasm. Obviously the main function of a harder erection was instantly commented on, so there were no complaints there!
I really like the Bathmate Eight Vibrating Cock Ring, but I think the vibrating bullet didn’t need to be there. Obviously being removable and rechargeable makes it a worthwhile addition to the toy, but really if it was twice as powerful then maybe it would have been a 10/10. Therefore I would give it a worthy 8 out of 10: quality build and a quality toy.
