Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop Review

By Just Jess

The Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop from Loving Joy smells rich and delicious; opening the package for the first time the smell struck me before I’d fully unwrapped the stunning crop and even after a few weeks of play, the scent is still strong and fills me with delicious anticipation every time I get it out.

Aesthetically the crop is gorgeous. The soft, matte black leather tip is an inch wide and finished by a brass stud. The handle is also wrapped in thin lengths of the same leather whilst the length is black cord. If the whole thing was coated in leather this would have a much more high end feel but as a ÂŁ20 crop I was amazed at the quality.

As I’m single a lot of my play is currently solo but the Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop is easy to use even by myself. The leather wrist strap means the crop won’t be flying off no matter how hard you hit your willing partner or how clumsy you may be.

The crop delivers seriously stingy hits which took my breath away and left perfectly neat red welts all over my thighs and butt. The brass stud is also visible after heavy impacts. Despite some seriously strong hits, this crop hasn’t yet left me with any bruising but some of the marks have remained visible several days later.

I’m sure if the central shaft was used for impact too the Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop would leave bruises but I’m quite a soft sub and not quite ready for that level of play.

At 72cm long I was initially worried that I wouldn’t be able to control the impact of the crop and as I’ve never been a horsey girl this was my first time using a crop but I found it easy to use accurately, the shaft is just flexible enough to allow precision without being too rigid. There is a lot of flex to it and this stops any impact being too sharp while still delivering enough bite with every blow.

The riding crop makes an incredible swishing sound as it travels through the air creating a second of anticipation before the crack as it hits your skin.

I was disappointed that the leather banding joining the wrist hoop to the handle and finishing the join with the main shaft unravelled on the first use, I think a further brass stud here would both add to the aesthetic and keep the wrap in place. I may glue this back down as it now looks untidy and unfinished.

Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop Review

For me this riding crop strikes a perfect balance between pleasure and pain. It’s not so extreme that the wuss in me wants to run away but it delivers the marks and sting that I crave.

Thank you to Cara Sutra and Loving Joy for giving me the opportunity to review the Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Riding Crop. The quality was fantastic for the price and I’m definitely going to try some of the other items in the range.
