Erotic Novel Reviews
By Miss Emma MM When I asked to review Virtue and Vice I had no idea what it was about. I became a fan of the author, Megan Hart, last year so that was my sole reason for requesting it. Other books of hers that I have read are contemporary. This one is different. When it starts out you may think that it's just another historical romance (which, don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of) but it's more than that. It's actually classified as a Paranormal Romance. This is because, though at first glance it seems to just be set in the past, it's actually set in an altered version of the past.
By Kinky Cornish The book starts with the leading female (Lizzie) and leading male (John) meeting in a hotel bar where he mistakenly thinks she is a high end call girl, she decides to go along with it for fun as he is obviously stunningly gorgeous and so the story begins. It's a bit similar to pretty woman in that he buys up all her free time whilst he is there on business and when together their feelings for each other grow. Lizzie is worrying during this how to tell him she is not actually 'Bettie the call girl' which she discuses with the obligatory gay housemate.
By Miss Emma MM Have you been raped? I have not, I've been very lucky. However if you have or are in any way triggered by scenes of rape you most definitely need to skip this book. There is even gynecological rape, which is a fear of many women, that people think is unfounded. Here, you go, it's in a book.
The book starts out a bit slow and confusing because you really get thrown in at the start. It took me a little while and a re-reading a few bits to make sure I was following it correctly. It happened a couple of times in the book that I wasn't sure about what happened and I had to reread it but it wasn't bothering me. The story really sucks you in and it is a very good book to read if you are curious about BDSM and even if you are more acquainted with kink, it still is a good read. It is a story with very strong and elaborate characters that you can identify with and it’s not just about the kink. It is also about getting to know yourself and giving in to things that truly make you happy. It is also an intriguing love story with an lovely twist. The inner struggle of giving in to your submissive nature is beautifully written and very relatable.
By FesureMaybe This centre is a centre for different levels and activities of a sexual nature, which end up with an amazing twist to the whole thing and the story has a cult kind of feel to it, meaning there are a lot of different great characters to meet!
The healthy respect for people's particular kink tastes, wherever they are on the spectrum. As well as, of course, a healthy sprinkling of some of the hottest, raunchiest spanking and BDSM scenes you will ever have the privilege of reading.
This story sees us getting to know a girl called Lizzie, fairly normal, vanilla and with an ordinary office job. Mistaken for a call girl by the handsome older gentleman in a bar one night, we are taken on a voyage through the eyes of both parties. Lizzie feeling that she needs to live up to the erotic and exotic world of call girls, as she sees it; while John Smith (yes, that's his real name, even Lizzie can't believe it) becomes more and more suspicious of her authenticity as a call girl, despite her eagerness to please him in whichever way he sees fit.
