Lube Info and Ingredients:
The ingredients listed on the tube are:
Purified Water (aqua), Glycerine, Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Propyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben
So as you can see this lube contains Glycerine (as the second ingredient) and Paraben.
Lube Usage:
The first thing I do with any new lubricant is check to see the ingredients it is made with. This lube, like a lot of others, have parabens and Glycerine included. These ingredients alone make me cringe, parabens are toxins and Glycerine irritates my skin as well as plenty of others. Nevertheless the review must go on so I tried it out.
Firstly I put the lube on my hand. The first thing I noted was, when I put the lube in my hand, it stayed in place. Even when I moved my hand, it didn’t run off which was quite a shock. Then I began rubbing, starting friction, which never actually came. The System JO H2O Water Based Lube didn’t let me make any friction. It was pretty awesome. Once I was done, after about two minutes had passed, the lube still hadn’t dried or absorbed into my skin. The back of my hand was left feeling oily (which I expected, because. Glycerine). Even after half an hour my hand was still slightly oily. This lubricant genuinely felt like a silicone lube, rather than a water-based one.
So this lube felt awesome and didn’t seem to irritate the back of my hand. Next chance we had for sexy time (which at the moment is few and far between) we used the System JO H2O Water Based Lube samples. It worked wonderfully, as expected. However it left my lady bits feeling VERY greasy! The lube is great but I don’t like having an oily vagina.
Summary:
The Good:
This lube is pretty cool. It feels and ultimately acts as a silicone lube but it is water based, so it’s safe to use with toys.
The Bad:
It leaves my skin feeling undeniably greasy, which sucks, because who wants an oily snatch?
The Ugly:
The System JO H2O Water Based Lube tubes I received contain Glycerine, which is the cause of the oiliness. Also there are Parabens in this, which is a major no-no for me and many, many others.
Thank you for sending me these samples for review. I couldn’t recommend this lube because of some of the ingredients, and I’d ultimately give this lube a 4/10.
