Stormy Night by Jade Stratton Review
By Pleasure Panel reviewer Poppycat22
As I mentioned in my previous review, I read, lots! It’s one thing that clears my headspace of the day to day and provides an escape, but it’s so hard to find a writing style that I like. Jade Stratton seems to transport the reader into the scene, her writing is so expressive and clear that you absorb details and paint a detailed picture in your mind’s eye without realising it.
This story, as the title hints, is set on a stormy night. A recently single Anne is the main character, an ambitious career woman, with effortless style and a shapely figure. When called into the office it seems nothing is going right for her, the umbrella doesn’t stand up to much, the security guard leaves her standing in the rain. Anne is soaked through and irritable by the time she makes it to her desk, softened only by the kindness of I.T guy, Jack, fetching her a blanket. Jack is the invisible office geek but not without ambitions of his own. With Anne in his sights does nice guy Jack stand a chance?
The steamy parts draw you in, they’re made all the more hot for the fact that none of it is ultra kinky and it’s achievable in a real life scene. Passionate, raw and intense.
This is by far not a one trick pony though, sure the sex is hot, and of course that’s kind of the point when reading erotica, but the story wrapped around the scene is of equal quality. An unexpected twist caught me in my tracks, urging me on, I had to know more, I needed to know what was going to happen.
My advice? Find time to read it in one go, you won’t want to put this down.
