SPUNK Lube Hybrid Review

By Pleasure Panel reviewer Screw Taboo

There are so many lubricants to choose from that it can feel a little overwhelming. Silicone, oil, or water based? Anal-specific or one for everything? Warming, cooling, desensitising. flavoured, organic…? I understand why people just use spit!

I’m low maintenance and highly impatient which means I want one lube that is suitable for everything and doesn’t need to be reapplied. I like how slick and long lasting silicone lubes are, but I use silicone toys so silicone lube is out. I’ve tried to love purely water-based lubes because there are more paraben and glycerine free options available, but I can’t stand having to reapply or add water.

I admit novelty is what attracted me to SPUNK Lube Hybrid, but I was very pleasantly surprised to find it had more to offer than just looking suspiciously like spunk. Spunk Lube is a hybrid lubricant (water-based with a little silicone) so it ticks most of my boxes. It is long-lasting, condom-safe, suitable for vaginal and anal play, can be used with silicone toys, and is almost as silky as silicone lubes.

Compared to other hybrid lubes I have tried, SPUNK Lube Hybrid comes out on top. Although I find most hybrid lubes moisturising when used vaginally, I’ve had less luck when used anally. SPUNK lube soaked into my skin without leaving any stickiness, both anally and vaginally.

I wouldn’t say I have a cum fetish, but I love how if feels on my skin. The fact it mimics that sensation is a huge plus for me. Straight out of the packet it is a little too cold to feel exactly like spunk, but once it heats up a little from my body heat, I find it hard to tell the difference.

Playing with the SPUNK Lube Hybrid was probably more fun than it should have been. The texture and density is almost perfect, so it was somewhat mesmerising squeezing it on a dildo and watching it run down the sides. After coating half my home in spunk, I grabbed some paper towels and started the clean up operation. That was the point when I became most impressed with the lube. The viscosity made it really feel like I was cleaning up cum.

I received five 0.25fl oz/7.37ml sachets. Each SPUNK Lube Hybrid sachet was more than enough for a session (vaginal, anal and a toy), but I’m Northern so I’m frugal. I like having sachets because it keeps the lube fresh and I can throw a couple in my bag for overnight trips. I did have a little trouble opening one of the sachets, but I have the hand-eye coordination of a five year old so I don’t necessarily think that was the sachet’s fault.

I am very impressed with SPUNK Lube Hybrid. I expected it to be little more than a novelty item, but I would actually still buy it if it looked nothing like cum. My only criticism is that it contains parabens (although it is glycerine free). I’m not especially sensitive to parabens, but it still loses a point.
