Rocks Off Rechargeable RO-80 Bullet Vibrator

Thanks to Nice n Naughty, I have added the pinnacle of Rocks Off luxury to my ever growing collection, the new rechargeable RO-80 bullet vibrator. As you can see from my previous reviews, I have a soft spot for the Rocks Off sex toys range and the powerful little RO-80 vibe in particular.

Delivery was fast and packaging was discreet, whilst the bullet itself was housed inside clearly marked, professional looking Rocks Off packaging.

Unlike the battery operated RO-80 bullet vibes which are available in the original chrome, then a variety of colours and most recently, patterned outer covers, the rechargeable RO-80 is the only Rocks Off bullet this size in gold. The material is metallic ABS plastic, which means that it’s compatible with both silicone and water based lubricants. It is also latex and phthalates free.

The rechargeable RO-80 bullet vibrator has 7 vibrating functions to experience too, rather than the single speed of the battery powered version. The functions are best described as follows:

  1. Low constant vibration
  2. Medium constant vibration
  3. Fast constant vibration
  4. Dash-dash-dash- extended vibration and repeat
  5. Fast dash-dash-dash vibration
  6. Elongated dash-dash-dash vibration, then fast dash-dash-dash vibration
  7. Variety of fast dash and longer vibrations

To turn on the bullet, just click the button on the bottom. Unlike the battery powered version, this button is flatter yet still easily found in the centre of the base and comfortable to press.

The novel thing about this bullet vibe is of course that it’s rechargeable. Within the box you receive the RO-80 golden bullet, housed within it’s very own charging dock that looks astoundingly like a makeup or large lipstick case. There is even a mirrored back inside, making it look more elegant. This round, plastic case opens to reveal the bullet sat in the space for it in the centre.

Open the back of the case to reveal the USB lead which is neatly tucked away. The back of the case comes off completely, but you can just undo the lead, place it in the cut-out area made for it, the replace the back while you’re charging.

The case serves to protect the bullet during storage too.

To charge up, just plug the lead into any USB port, or you could combine it with a USB to mains plug, if you have one and prefer to use mains to charge. Personally I just use my pc or laptop. I usually have a nice row of toys charging, such as the LELO Mia lipstick vibe or more recently the new TENGA Yuki vibrator (to be reviewed soon).

There is a red LED on the front of the case which lights up to let you know your bullet is charging. It took about an hour for me to charge it up the first time and I read that this will keep the bullet going for up to 2 hours of constant use. I can tell when it needs charging up however, it just isn’t as superbly powerful on the top level vibration anymore and I know it’s time to plug it in.

Does it work? Yes. Well it did for me and as I am the old lady of sex toys this means this toy has a powerful vibration. My clit isn’t easily impressed (see the recent £5 or less challenge review section) yet the top level of constant vibration on this RO-80 did it for me. It’s not silent, but it’s quiet enough to use without people in the next room hearing the toy.

The rest of the functions are unnecessary for my personal enjoyment. Anything less than the fastest mode of constant vibration just feels like selling it short, while the varying functions are a tease but not in a great way for me. I prefer to have the option of using the strongest vibration a toy can provide then placing it over and within myself to achieve the maximum levels of pleasure for me.

The rechargeable RO-80 bullet vibrator costs £34.99 which is substantially more than the approx £10 for the battery operated version, yet when compared to the price of a LELO Mia 2, it seems a bargain. Although the Mia 2 has the added advantage of being waterproof. It really depends what you want from your toys but I would advise rechargeable every time. No fiddling with batteries (particularly the watch variety) and this has a wireless charging operation meaning you don’t plug anything actually into the toy. Just sit in the dock and await maximum pleasure power.

If I could improve this toy in any way, I would make it waterproof. That’s the one major advantage of the battery powered version, that one is waterproof whereas this rechargeable one isn’t – so that’s something to keep in mind if you do decide to purchase.

If you’d like to give the rechargeable RO-80 bullet vibrator a go, you can get yours here from Nice n Naughty for £34.99.
