L’Amourose Vera Vibrator

Pleasure Panel review by Scandarella

I’ll kick this review off by making a statement: I love L’Amourose! I have a few of their products now, and each addition to my collection makes me want more. Everything about them is sheer luxury, from the outer packaging to all the wonderful things found inside.

The L’Amourose Vera Vibrator is something I’ve wanted to try for ages, so my day was made in all kinds of ways when I was sent it to review. Spanx, Cara!

Now, I made a rule recently that unless a product came in either remarkably good or remarkably bad packaging, I would omit talking about it in reviews as I honestly think it’s kinda boring. Well here I am a month later, preparing to wax lyrical about a box.

As with all of the products from the L’Amourose Black Diamonds range, the L’Amourose Vera comes beautifully packaged. The outer sleeve is dark, sensuous, and understated, and the presentation box inside is fantastic. It’s a slightly textured solid black, held closed with an elasticated ribbon, topped with a sweet little bow. Sturdy, pretty and inconspicuous, it’s perfect for long term storage.

Inside the box sits the L’Amourose Vera Vibrator, cradled in its charging dock. This is one of my favourite things about the Black Diamonds range: even the charger is beautifully designed. The charging dock is plastic with diamond like facets, and the jack is plugged in at the back. The L’Amourose Vera sits on top and connects magnetically, its little LED light flashing away then turning solid once it’s charged. This takes about two hours, and taking it off charge before it’s complete will kill the battery eventually, so be patient. Difficult, I know, lol.

Beneath the dock you’ll find a usb cable, a UK plug, an info booklet, a coded card so you can activate your 18 month guarantee, and *smiles delightedly* a velvety storage bag. There’s even a sachet of lube in there to get you started.

So, now for the L’Amourose Vera itself. Quite simply, it’s gorgeous. Half abs plastic and half luxuriously soft silicone (mine is cerise pink), the L’Amourose Vera is as perfectly made as you’d expect it to be, given its price tag. The silicone top is smooth and flawless, and the base is black and faceted, hence the range name, Black Diamonds. It’s waterproof, making it easily cleanable with soapy water or spray cleaners, but pay attention to the seam where the two materials join as it can get a big grubby if you don’t. It’s perfectly weighted, ergonomically designed with a taper to half thickness at one end, and the buttons are beneath the surface of the silicone, making it a very streamlined affair.

Those buttons are denoted by a small plus sign to switch the toy on and move up through the 12 levels of intensity, a coffee bean looking symbol to cycle through the patterns, and a minus sign to scroll back down in intensity and switch off.

Now for the fun part: the vibes! Like I said, the L’Amourose Vera Vibrator has a whopping 12 levels of intensity and 5 patterns to go with them. To be honest, only two of those patterns feel distinct to me, but I’m not a lover of patterns anyway so this didn’t matter. They are more distinct on the higher speeds though, so if you like patterns you may find one that suits you.

Using the L’Amourose Vera is always a lovely experience. The vibrations are rumbly and deep, so they don’t numb my clit and never make the bones in the hand that’s holding the toy feel itchy. I have to say that it’s definitely not as powerful as the L’Amourose products that have shafts, though it’s still more than powerful enough to get me off. I know the Rosa and Denia have two motors, but on those I find the vibes from the shafts eclipse those of the base. The L’Amourose Vera is basically that slightly less powerful base made into a dedicated clitoral stimulator, but with no shaft to overwhelm it, the vibes hold their own.

We’ve used the L’Amourose Vera Vibrator in a multitude of situations. Together during penetrative (vaginal & anal) sex, during his & hers oral, during masturbation with and without dildos, in and out of water and even during massage. It lends itself well to them all and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I think it would make a perfect gift for a special occasion, (Valentine’s Day is almost here *wink-wink*) or if you’d rather keep it yourself it would be the ideal introduction into luxury sex toys.

10/10
