Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator Review

By Cara Sutra

While enjoying a chat with the Jimmyjane sales team at the 2015 Erofame Germany trade show, two more Jimmyjane vibrators were added to my growing collection. The Jimmyjane FORM 5 Vibrator and the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator were given to me free of charge at the show, for the purposes of a fair and honest review here at Cara Sutra once I’d tried them out. Thanks Jimmyjane.

Today I’m going to be talking about my experiences with the Jimmyjane FORM 6 vibrator.

Presentation & first impressions

Jimmyjane FORM 6 comes in a recognisable Jimmyjane box – white, sleek, glossy, minimal – almost but not quite clinical – and with the product image and details on the outside. Inside, the vibrator is carefully contained within a moulded plastic insert, along with the other accessories.

I’ve enjoyed some other Jimmyjane sex toys in the past – not all of them, mind – so I wasn’t really sure what to expect with the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator yet. Fab or fail? Only one way to find out.

What you get in the box

As well as the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator you get:

  • Instruction leaflet with helpful diagrams
  • Charging dock
  • USB charging lead.

Jimmyjane FORM 6 is a silicone covered, waterproof and rechargeable vibrator which offers multi speeds and patterns, as well as two differently sized insertable ends to enjoy. I was looking forward to giving it a try.

Charging up the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator

First, I had to charge up the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator. I was intrigued to see how the tiny seeming dock thing would manage to charge up such a comparatively large vibrator. After (eventually) checking the diagrams in the instruction leaflet for assistance, I found that you balance the FORM 6 vibe on the dock right where the metal ‘collar’ is on the vibrator. There are evidently sensors which connect with corresponding metal nodes in the dock, allowing the vibrator to charge up ‘wirelessly’ once the dock has the included USB lead plugged into it and a port. All very clever.

While the vibrator is charging up there are red LEDs that light up on the front to let you know it’s connected ok and is actually charging – not just sitting there looking pretty. Useful.

Once the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator had charged up (I left it overnight as I usually do with rechargeable sex toys – I forget to time it otherwise and worry it won’t be charged up enough and I’ll have one of those nightmarish not-quite-at-the-O vibe fail moments) I was ready to rock. With pleasure. I hoped.

It’s a silicone covered vibe so water based lube was the call of the day – grabbing some Sliquid off the side I readied myself for some intensive testing action.

How does the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator feel?

Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator Review by Cara Sutra

The Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator powered into life once it was charged, with a buzz that seemed promising to begin with. There’s a + and – button to raise and lower intensity, and a button shaped like a squiggle beneath those which changes the mode. There are two motors in the FORM 6 and the modes include vibrations which have both of them on, or just one on at once, as well as various pulses and oscillations.

Sadly, I don’t think much of the Jimmyjane FORM 6 as a vibrator. There are a few reasons for this.

The buttons are on the handle -which yes, they usually are – except in this case the vibrator can be inserted from either end. This means that when you use the vibrator as intended, vaginally, the control buttons will be inside you. This seems like a very odd design choice. I have not trained my cervix to push the buttons on a vibrator. Yet, anyway. I’ll keep trying.

Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator Review by Cara Sutra

There’s quite a prominent seam running down each side of my Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator. Not ideal, either for an insertable sex toy, a sex toy dubbed a ‘luxury’ or ‘high end’ vibrator, or really any sex toy come to that. There’s enough room in that price bracket to burnish the seams, surely?

The vibrations are tinny, even the rumbly ones. I know, seems a strange thing to say. Although one of the motors is definitely more rumbly (the other is more whiny than even the angry-wasp-butt types) it’s definitely nowhere near L’Amourose Rosa, Swan Whooper, Moregasm G Spot or even the discarded Motorhead large size vibe for the rumble factor. After flailing around with the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator for over half an hour trying to feel at least a little surge towards the orgasmic pathway (whether internal/vagina which isn’t the preferred way for me, or my fave – clitoral stimulation, I gave up, ditched it and grabbed the nearest reliable vibe. The L’Amourose Rosa. Orgasm in less than 30 seconds. Says it all, really.

Another couple of smaller issues were the lack of a storage bag (in my opinion any silicone sex toy over about £50 should come with one) and it’s not the quietest of vibrators either, if that’s an issue for you.

Summary

I’ve tried loving the Jimmyjane FORM 6 Vibrator on different occasions – you know, in case it was my mood, tiredness, situation, just not feeling it that day – but it’s just not the sex toy for me. Perhaps it would suit someone who isn’t as fussy about their sex toys, about their vibrator finish, about the noise from their sex toys, about their stimulation power from pleasure products – but then you have to question why someone who isn’t fussy about all those points would spend £100+ on a vibrator they’re going to be, at best, meh about. Probably. In my opinion.

I’m really disappointed in it personally, I had high hopes but it let me down.

If you’d like to give it a try, you can buy the Jimmyjane FORM 6 vibrator for £108.99.
