Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug Review (PD4426-23)
By Pleasure Panel reviewer Zara
I purchased the Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug [product reference PD4426-23] months back, it’s only been used a couple of times because I was really disappointed with it. Now I’ve had a look at the plug to do this review I’m even more concerned. I’ll go into details of why I’m worried after giving some information about the product and my experience using it. When I got it with my boyfriend I was really excited to use it, I was happy with my purchase being cheap and apparently body safe I was ready for a god time.
The Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug is black and bendy with a flared base, similar to a suction cup. The size is relatively small, being a beginner’s butt plug. I made a few mistakes choosing this product. I’m not exactly a beginner but thought it’d be big enough for me after having no anal penetration for quite some time. I was a bit nervous to try the larger sized butt plugs. I know now that a larger size would suit me better. For people who are starting to explore anal penetration the size is fine and there is other products made in similar sizes.
Using the Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug to begin with it felt ok but after some time it became more annoying, like it wasn’t enough. It became uncomfortable after a while longer and not enjoyable. I realize now I needed a larger size and a different product altogether would have been a better option.
The flexible “jelly” probably added to my dissatisfaction especially during sex. I hoped to get some pressure against the right spots but because of the size and being so flexible I wasn’t able to get that feeling. It really didn’t give me that buzz so it was quite a let down. Knowing what I know now I’m glad I only used it twice. Unfortunately I didn’t know how to choose a real body safe product, something I’m learning. I want to help others avoid making the same mistakes as I’ve made.
The Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug box says made of a “soft jelly material,” which is slightly vague. It feels like a rubbery sort of jelly. When it was purchase it was black and shiny. Today I noticed how obvious it is that there was a coating on the product that has started to come off. The packaging advertising says it’s made of body safe material so it’s concerning to see the product behaving in such a way.
My first thought is where did the coating go, did it come off during cleaning, storage or use? I’ve cleaned it using toy cleaner or water and soap not with any abrasive cleaning cloth or solution so that’s unlikely. Lubricant should be used with butt plugs so it shouldn’t have this effect. I had stored in a drawer, with other toys with other toys in bags, for quite some time it was in the box it came with so again unlikely.
I’m hoping it was the way I stored it because the alternative is that it’s happened during use. I don’t think it can be considered body safe if it dissolves like this so how can they advertise it as being safe? Is it now porous and susceptible to bacterial growth? The answer is yes, more than likely so it’s now unsafe if it ever was safe.
I’m sad to say that when I got this Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug I was excited and ready to use it anticipating good times. If I’d reviewed the product a year ago or even 6 months ago it would have been very different because I didn’t have any real knowledge of body safe products and would have trusted the package, as I did when I got it. Not only was the toy not enjoyable to use, I regret using it at all.
For people who are more confident or experienced there’s a range of sized butt plugs other body safe products are available; silicone is a good option. Stainless steel and glass butt plugs are available also for those with some experience.
I can’t recommend the Pipedream Fetish Fantasy Series Limited Edition Beginner’s Butt Plug to others. I would recommend caution when buying as the packaging doesn’t always show you accurate information. A silicone butt plug would be preferable and there’s many brands around that make small butt plugs for beginner’s, that would make much better choices than this one.
