EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil 50ml Review

By Pleasure Panel reviewer Miss Scarlet

I’m a big fan of erotic and sensual massage, and I always like to try something different to my usual go to baby oil, so I was pleased to get the opportunity to review the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil from EXSENS for the Cara Sutra Pleasure Panel.

The EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil is presented in a slim box decorated with pretty illustrations of mint. The box looks quite innocuous and discreet, and would not look out of place on display in a bedroom or bathroom.

Various bits of information are included on the box. These include:

Ingredients: glycerine, water, flavouring and ribodioside A.

I wasn’t sure what ribodioside A was, and an internet search revealed it’s a natural sweetening ingredient extracted from the stevia leaf;  the use of stevia is mentioned at the end of the information on ingredients.

Safety warnings: the product should not come into contact with the eyes, be kept out of the way of children, be kept at room temperature and away from light. Additionally, the product is edible but is not a food product

100% of the ingredients are natural and 94% are from organic farming.

The bottle is white and illustrated to match the box. Safety and ingredient information is repeated on the bottle.

EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil 50ml Review

The EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil is quite a thick oil that is dispensed by pump action through a nozzle. The oil seems to dispense easily, and trickles and runs when it is dispensed onto skin. Both my partner and I  used the product on each other, and despite the oil running when first applied, we both thought it was a bit too thick in consistency to massage evenly and comfortably into the skin.

Rather than gliding smoothly onto the skin,  it seemed to take quite a bit of work to get it to spread over the skin. It did absorb to some extent after several minutes, but we both were left with a sticky, greasy  residue on our bodies. and on our hands after carrying out the respective massages. I even gave the product a second chance when I was by myself and applied it to my arms while sitting at my desk. Despite me spending quite some time  rubbing it into my skin, I found that after an hour of the product being applied my arms were still sticky with the oil, which gave me an uncomfortable feeling.

I love anything minty, and in particular I have a weakness for the flavour and scent of spearmint, so I was eager to get my nose around the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil. The smell of the oil is initially quite minty when it is dispensed, although I would say it was mint rather  than specially spearmint.

As the product information mentioned  the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil was edible, and that mouth to skin contact intensifies the heating effect, I thought I would give it a lick. The mint gave a tingling sensation on my tongue, but I couldn’t taste the flavour at all. What I did get was a very unpleasant and overpowering sweet taste, which is the effect of stevia. Once applied during our massages, the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil had a faint hint of a mint aroma, but it wasn’t a fresh minty smell, rather more of a faint stale odour.

EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil 50ml Review

I was puzzled by the mention of warming in the name  of the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil. Neither of us felt any hint of warmth from the product, either from applying to the skin or by mouth contact, which the information suggests will intensity the heating effect.

Unfortunately, there is not much positive I can say about the EXSENS Warming Organic Spearmint Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil other than the box is attractive.

1/10

  1. This is only for intimate massage: i.e. actual use on vaginas and penises (or maybe nipples?). You apply, it feels amazing (gentle warming sensation) and then you lick it off. There is no odor only flavor. It’s body safe and condom friendly.
If you used it for regular massage no wonder you were disappointed. :-/

    • Intimate massage doesn’t only cover touching genitals and erogenous zones. It’s sensible to assume that a couple massaging each other will use a product marked as a ‘massage oil’ for massage – ie. elsewhere over each other’s bodies. A product designed ONLY for use on the genitals etc is usually labelled as a lubricant, not a massage oil. I am replying on behalf of the reviewer above, I did not use the product myself. If I received a bottle of something labelled as a ‘massage oil’, though, I’d want to be able to carry out a full massage on my partner’s body – not just a handjob or a bit of quick fingering and oral sex. That’s what flavoured lubes are for. Perhaps you need to look at renaming this product as well as being more specific in your instructions on the box.

  2. Agreed that our instructions are too vague!
This particular product is not a lubricant, and we would not label it as such since it does not do the job of a lubricant. It’s more of a gentle sensation gel which tastes amazing and is fun to massage into or onto vaginas and penises and then lick off. Most massage oils are not good to use on a vagina and are not nice when they get into your mouth, this one is. “Intimate massage” is a bit of a euphemism but we sell into a large market that won’t allow us to call a spade a spade.
We also sell actual massage oils (organic and all natural) which smell amazing and would probably please this reviewer more.
