Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator Review

By Louise Lace

I seem to have been doing a lot of moaning lately, moaning in the un-sexy way.  Well it is 2020 after all, there isnt a lot of cheerful things going on, is there? Having started to bore myself with my whining, a message from the wonderful Cara inviting me to trial the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator was the call to action I needed to turn my FFS moaning into ‘Oh. My. God’ moaning.

Packaging & In The Box

The Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator is packaged in a sleek matte white box adorned with an image of the Fusion on a grey marble effect background.  It is quite a chunky box for the size of the contents.

The box is hygiene sealed and opens like a drawer rather than a box.  Within, the Fusion is nestled in a moulded tray which holds the USB charging cable and instruction book underneath.

Features

The box informs me there are multiple ways to use the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator:

  • For targeted clitoral stimulation together or during solo play.
  • For nipple stimulation.
  • Internally for vaginal g-spot stimulation.
  • For stimulating the penis.

One toy, all those uses, really? Looks like I’m going to have fun testing out this bold claim from Ann Summers.

Charging Up

Charging the Fusion is a doddle, the charging cable has a magnetic charge point which snaps onto the two metal points on the back of the vibrator.  Once connected 2 white lights flash to indicate the device is charging. Once charged the lights remain constant.

Operation & Design

Operating the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator is really simple, one button to turn on or off and another to scroll through the 10 vibration variations. The vibrations travel the length of the vibrator so they can be felt no matter where/how you hold it.

Two things about the Fusion did stand out.

1. The colour. It is a beautiful, gender-neutral matte grey. Such a refreshing change from pink, purple or ‘skin-tone’.

2. Its shape. Unlike most vibrators, the Fusion is not round.  The ‘shaft’ is flat with rounded edges and the head is slightly bulbous.  By no means is the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator shaped like a penis head or pointed like most vibrators or bullet vibes.

The body-safe silicone has a suede-like feel to it, almost soft to the touch.

Vibrating Settings

The Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator is multi-functional, not only in its vibration speeds and patterns but also in its shape.

The vibration patterns are easy to operate with a one touch button located at the base of the vibrator.  Each click of the button takes you through a variety of steady and patterned vibrations.

There are 3 steady settings and 7 pattern settings.  I found the steady setting to all be very similar, there wasn’t a clear difference between the low, medium and high settings. The pattern settings varied from dot, dot, dot to ascending and descending speeds.

What I will say is that the vibrations on every setting are very buzzy, only one of the pattern settings featured a rumbling vibration and that was at the height of the pattern. lf you prefer rumbly vibrations, I’m not convinced you will like this vibrator.

Flexibility

The shape of the Fusion can be manipulated by gently bending the shaft.  The first time I did this the Fusion cracked and groaned in my fingers, much like when popping a glow stick. I panicked that I had broken it straight away, but no, it’s just a little stiff when you first bend and mould it to the shape you desire.

The range of movement is impressive, the device can be folded in half so the tips of the shaft almost meet.  The shaft can be bent at any point from the bulb to the base giving endless options and and it can even be twisted.  I can now see how the multiple positions described on the box could be possible.

Now to put the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator to the test…

During Use

I started by leaving the Fusion in it’s original flat shape and used the bulb head against my clitoris.  The rounded bulb does not offer pinpoint stimulation but the shape does allow for great coverage of the area.  Buzzy vibrations are not usually my preference and as I skipped my way through the steady and pattern settings, I found my clit was not particularly happy and an orgasm could only be reached by pairing the Fusion with another toy from my collection.

As the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator has so many ways that it can be bent and positioned, I was not deterred by my first test run and moved on to using it internally.

G-Spotting

Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator Review

I do experience G-spot orgasms quite frequently so I was keen to see if the Fusion and its buzziness could get me to the point of a G-spot orgasm.  I began by putting a slight bend just below the bulbous tip so that the Fusion had an angled tip and gently inserted it into my vagina.  The flatness of the Fusion was not noticeable to me and it did slide into place with minimal fuss and lube, I have been blessed with children though so my vagina doesnt usually cause I fuss when I put things in there, regardless of shape.

Once positioned, I clicked the on/off button and then clicked once on the function button and the lowest steady setting sprang to life.  After a minute or so, I clicked through to the strongest steady setting and my body began to react.  Much like when used externally, the buzziness took a while for my body to adapt.  However, as per my first test run, orgasm was only achieved by pairing the Fusion with another toy.

Dual Stim & Couple’s Play

Using my previous test sessions as research I then took the plunge and bent the Fusion completely in half so that it was a ‘U’ shape. I positioned the bulb end internally, pressing it against my G-spot.  The other end, which also vibrates, was nestled against my clit.  I then called upon the assistance of my other half.

He was invited to penetrate me whilst the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator was in place.  We got off to a bumpy start as the Fusion isn’t exactly a snug fit so each time he pulled back the Fusion came out too.  In the end I held the fusion in place by pressing it down on my clit whilst my other half rocked in and out.  The vibrations internally Pleasure my other half more than expected and he soon reached the point of orgasm.  I, on the other hand, was once again left battling for my orgasm.

In Conclusion

I love the concept of the Ann Summers Fusion Flexible Vibrator, I love how you can bend and shape the vibrator to suit, but unfortunately the buzzy rather than rumbly vibrations just didn’t quite work for my body. Therefore it’s a 7 out of 10 from me.

I please, please, please add some steady, rumbling vibrations to any new versions of this toy, Ann Summers.

Thank you to Cara and Ann Summers for sending me the Fusion Flexible Vibrator for review.
