Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong Review

The beautiful Cecile range is one of the new lingerie styles available from Ann Summers for Spring/Summer 2019. While in my local city of Lincoln UK for lunch with a friend the other week, they offered to buy me my choice of gift from the store – and I chose this gorgeous looking lingerie which is in my favourite colourway, red and black. The Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong are available separately, either in store or online.

As my Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong were bought from the store, they were carefully wrapped in pink tissue by the cashier, then placed in a sturdy but recyclable paper Ann Summers bag with resilient twist handles. The bag was sealed at the top with an Ann Summers sticker, which was a nice extra touch of discretion when walking about town. The bag states ‘Ann Summers’ but I don’t have a problem walking about with a shopping bag from there; neither should anyone, in my opinion!

First Impressions

My first impressions of the two-piece lingerie set I’d selected were obviously great, as I’d chosen them off the rails in store. Ann Summers seem to have various named lingerie ‘lines’, which you can mix and match within in order to create a lingerie set which suits your preferences. For example, there’s a Cecile Brazilian brief available rather than the thong I chose, a padded longline bra, a body, and a waist-enhancing waspie you could add-on for maximum seduction points.

Taking a closer look at my chosen set once home, after unpacking, I was really pleased with my choice. The bra is well made and is underwired in my specific bra size – Ann Summers bras are available in ‘proper’ bra sizes, which I appreciate. The red on both the bra and matching thong is vivid, while the gold coloured metal ring highlights finish the look perfectly.

Size & Care Details

I chose the Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong in my current sizes: 32E bra and UK size 10 thong. The Cecile collection is available in a wide range of sizes, from 30A to 44H for the bra, and between UK sizes 6-20 for the thong.

The bra is made from 80% polyester, 18% polyamide, 2% elastane, excluding trims.

Meanwhile, the thong is made from 97% polyester & 3% elastane with a 100& cotton gusset. This is excluding trims.

Inside the bra I found the material and care label which advises hand-washing the bra; I removed the thong tag before review but due to the front metallic buckle trim I’m hand-washing that in tepid water too.

The bra fits with the usual hook and eye fasten in the centre of the back, with double hooks and three levels of adjustment. The shoulder straps can be adjusted with the traditional slide adjust on the back of each shoulder too. The thong fits as thongs do!

Nothing complex about the fitting, as these lingerie items are made for UK bra and dress sizes it’s up to you to select your size then pop them on and enjoy.

How It Feels/Looks

Stepping in front of the mirror once I’d put the Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong on, I was really happy with the finished look! Red and black are definitely my colours; adding a favourite red lippy (this Fenty lipstick is the bomb) was the cherry on the cake.

The edges of the cups flute out delicately from my breasts to create a ruffle edge effect which slightly teases and tickles as I move about. Underneath, on the band, the edges also flute and flare slightly, continuing the connotation of rose petals that the bright red embroidery provides.

With a dual slender strap connected to each shoulder strap, accented by the triple gold metallic rings, the bra looks much prettier than it would with the boring and ordinary straps. A central smaller gold metallic ring between my breasts ties the look together and gives the bra a decadently luxurious appeal. I feel positively resplendent wearing it!

To the thong. I know g-strings/thongs aren’t for everyone, and as mentioned above there is a Cecile Brazilian brief or a high-waisted pantie available if that’s more your thong thang thing. I don’t have that many matching sets of lingerie as my ‘sexy lingerie’ is usually in the form of bodysuits, bodystockings or fetish-wear, rather than bra/brief sets that I could also wear under clothing.

The thong obviously follows the same design as the bra, with a black mesh V forming the hip straps and rear, which continues over the comfortable cotton gusset. The top of the front panel of the thong is prettily fluted continuing the rose petal design, like the bra, and there is a slender strap with triple gold metallic ring detail echoing the shoulder strap and central details of the Cecile bra.

Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong ReviewI am absolutely loving my Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong. It’s almost a shame to cover it all up with everyday clothing, it’s that pretty –but I probably shouldn’t wander down the high street wearing only this set. Wearing it definitely puts a confident spring in my step though, and makes me feel like a glorious, seductive goddess. I also love to tease, so wearing a slightly lower cut top and allowing those fluted top edges of the bra to peek over –the petal edges- makes me feel sexier still.

All too often, matching thongs or briefs don’t benefit from the same high standard of manufacture as the bras, and can provide too little coverage for practical wear, or simply be uncomfortable for any length of time.

Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong ReviewThe Cecile Thong is extremely comfortable and wears just like any regular, well-made piece of underwear, with a comfortable, skin-friendly gusset, stretchy hip straps and a rear partition piece which doesn’t chafe or annoy.

At £30 for the bra and £14 for the thong, the Ann Summers Cecile Non-Padded Bra And Thong isn’t the cheapest lingerie set out there, but after selecting, wearing and enjoying it for myself I can vouch for the fact it’s definitely worth the price. Both pieces are true to size in my experience, and really well-made. I may even add the waspie in the near future to finesse my seductive bedroom look.
