By Gypsy Librarian: This story was really good. It certainly leaves readers wanting more, making us curious how the new couple will fare. Though Nera is a full adult in the story (Nera's Need by Kaelan Rhywiol), she still feels like a young person, which gives the story a bit of “coming of age” angle.
By Angel R Rivera / gypsylibrarian Got a little erotica reading done recently with Penthouse Variations on Oral. This volume is by the editors of Penthouse Variations. Now, I will admit that I have not read Penthouse or Penthouse Variations for some time, a deficit I need to remedy down the road. I do enjoy erotic tales featuring oral sex, so I looked forward to reading this new volume. I have to say that this collaboration with Cleis Press was a pleasant reading experience.
By Angel R. Rivera / gypsylibrarian After the foreword and the introduction, the book includes 11 chapters plus a small epilogue ("50 Items for your toy bag." No, it is not all sex toys and whips) and an appendix (a further reading list). The 11 chapters are short and get to the point with good and reassuring advice. Communication is a big theme in the book, and Taormino provides essential advice to get communication going. This is a book I definitely recommend.
I recently finished reading this gay erotic anthology, and I found it to be average in terms of the story quality and the building up in details. One issue for me was in development. I found that some of the stories could have been developed to be a bit longer, add a bit more to them to make them a bit more lush or a bit more alluring.
By Angel R Rivera / gypsylibrarian If you are looking for a little horror and a little erotica in your fiction, this may be for you. I do emphasize "little" because the stories are a bit light on both horror and erotic aspects, and this can vary from tale to tale. The book features some light horror and some stories do inspire a sense of unease.
