Illicit Thoughts Biography
Illicit Thoughts is where I explore my fascination with all things sexy. It contains my erotic fiction, true-life experiences, poetry, photographs and some of my ideas, opinions and thoughts about sex. I welcome and appreciate interaction with my readers and have made some excellent friends thanks to my blog.
What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?
My blog is called Illicit Thoughts and can be found here.
I already had two other blogs on the go; one where I blogged about my life in general and another where I had started to write some BDSM fiction. I felt the need to branch out into less specific erotica and decided to start Illicit Thoughts. The name simply popped into my head… inspired I guess by my own illicit thoughts!
Which country do you live in?
I live in Ireland.
Approximately how long have you been sex blogging?
My sex blogging began in September 2014 with the BDSM blog MsTsecretgarden
Illicit Thoughts was born on October 6th 1014 with a bittersweet series about a love affair that I felt just didn’t belong on MsT.
Why did you start a sex blog or reviewing sex toys?
I had grown in confidence from writing my ‘vanilla’ blog and had always enjoyed writing fiction in my youth, so I thought it was time have a go. Why my writing focused on sex is hard to explain, except to say that it was a time in my life where I was ready to explore my own sexuality and re-evaluate my perspective on sex/kink/relationships in general.
What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
Without doubt, the friends I have made and the interaction in the comments section. I think the sex blogging community is the most welcoming, inclusive and supportive bunch I have ever encountered.
Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?
Only my online friends. The only person IRL that knows is my husband. Ireland is a small place and I am not ready to lose my anonymity just yet!
Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?
I don’t think I have. I have had experiences and thought, “Hang on! This will make a great post.” Although I do act out certain positions or techniques as I write them, just to be sure they actually work or make sense! Makes for interesting viewing through my kitchen window I expect!
Do you take part in any blog memes? If so, which ones?
Sinful Sunday (the best and most positive meme EVER!)

Share with us a funny or interesting experience that’s happened to you in the course of your blogging.
I met my very best friend!
She commented on a story of mine at Illicit Thoughts (“Dang! I just broke my toy!”), we started chatting to discover we shared so much in common. We have spoken everyday since and I love her to bits!
Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?
I truly hope so! It has brought so many good things and people into my life, I don’t think I can imagine stopping mow.
Would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?
If I am honest, to be able to write for a living is my dream… I doubt I have the talent or skill to achieve this though.
As for blogging professionally… yes! I would love to but I am a bit clueless as to how to actually go about it. Any ideas from people are always welcome!
Tell us about three other bloggers you admire, and why.
Without doubt I must highlight Felicity Johns at The Dark Night Chronicles. I admire her talent and skill so very much. Her writing is breathtakingly beautiful and always hits the mark. She is the best friend I mentioned above, but that is not the reason I am featuring her here. Her gift for creating characters and stories that you actually care about speaks for itself.
I have made another firm friend in Kilted Wookie from A Kilted Wookie Writes. I am not calling him out because he did the same for me. I admire his photography on Sinful Sunday and Tumblr, sometimes cheeky and fun, other times very explicit but always tasteful. His writing, which ranges from erotica, haiku and very moving, honest personal accounts of his life is top notch. He is always kind and supportive and a simply lovely man.
Last, but by no means least, I must speak about Rebecca Black at rebeccablackerotica.com. Her Masturbation Monday stories always, and I mean always, make me very hot under the collar! Go read and enjoy!
It is so hard to limit this to just three blogs!
Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?
I love fiction as it allows my imagination and creativity run free.
I am a chick with opinions, so I do like to voice them occasionally on my blog, although I am loathe to dispense unsolicited advice as I feel it is just not my place to do so.
I admit, I do get a particular thrill when I write a story that is based on a real life sex experience, it feels deliciously exhibitionistic!
