I am a 41 year-old executive businesswoman living in a big city.  I am also a Mom; my son Liam lives with me every other week.

My blog is my journal.

The turbulence in the last few years in my life – involving an open marriage, affairs, divorce, sexual reawakening, online dating – all while navigating equal custody of my son and trying to maintain a good relationship with my ex – inspired me to get back to writing.

Unlike many divorced women, I am not bitter or angry at my ex for the breakdown of our marriage.  We both agreed we should go our separate ways.  I don’t regret my choices.  I’m pretty happy.  I’m not using a dating coach (yet).  I’m not looking to replace my husband and get re-married.  What I am, after a 15-year almost totally sexless relationship, is very keen on coming back to life, fulfilling every physical and emotional desire I have.

So far, so good. Life is fun and quite messy and I’m just figuring it out as I go along.

The Q&A

What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?

My name is Ann St. Vincent. I liked the idea of having an actual name for my blog title, because my blog is effectively my online diary, and also I couldn’t come up with a blog name that I thought I’d like after a few days.

Approximately how long have you been sex blogging, and why did you start?

It’s not a coincidence that I started my blog on my birthday in September 2013. I tend to be reflective around that time, and 2013 was no exception. More so, given it was two months before then that my ex and I had ended our marriage, and a month after that I’d moved into my new place.

At the urging of a close friend, I decided to re-start my journal, and to do it in blog format. And off I went. I had been through an open marriage, which I’d acted on, and then the breakdown of my marriage, and I used writing to start to process these things.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

I have two things; the first is that it really helps me sort out what I’m going through. I’m brutally honest with myself on the blog and that helps. The second thing is the supportive community; I never knew it existing and I’ve made some great friends through blogging.

Do you use social media? If so, where can we find you?

I am on Twitter @AnnStVincent. I don’t create enough content to be on Facebook, and I deleted Google+ after my personal and blog streams got crossed once by mistake (courtesy of sending a YouTube link to a boyfriend who didn’t know about my blog – whoops!).

Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?

A few of my closest friends know my blog name and read the blog. They are the ones I tell everything to anyway. Other close friends (and my Mom) know I blog but none of the details. I try to keep the number of people who know to a minimum, so that I can write completely freely. I had a 6 month relationship with a fellow blogger and know the down side of having someone read all your inner thoughts.

Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?

No, but there have been a few times on a bad date or bad online dating experiences where I’ve thought “well, not all is lost, at least this will make for a funny blog post”.

Do you take part in any blog memes? If so, which ones?

Generally no, because I write what’s going on in my life which usually doesn’t need any prompting. But, I have participated in Hyacinth Jones’s Boobday, and have posted a few Selfies on Sunday.

Share with us a funny or interesting experience that’s happened to you in the course of your blogging.

One of the funniest sexual experiences I had was a threesome where I had DP, DVP, and then…actually lost my shit. The link to the story is here.

Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?

Perhaps. It really depends whether I continue to get the benefit of writing and if I feel I’m still saying new things. If all I did was write about sex I have, I think that could get boring pretty fast. I’m not that skilled an erotia writer!

If not already a professional blog: would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?

I have no plans to earn a living blogging. I’ve been asked to put up ads, or write for other media, and it just deviates too much from what I do and why I do it.

Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?

Everything I write is real life, given why I blog. I’ve occasionally put up friends sex stories when their blog isn’t a great venue for them to do so.
