Katie Laid Bare Biography
Katie Laid Bare is a blog where I lay out my thoughts, feelings and emotions for my readers. I discuss matters of sex and sexuality quite openly.
The purpose of Katie Laid Bare to give my readers and followers, an insight into my world and the things that are important to me. I intend to be open and frank about the topics I choose to write about. Some of my views may be controversial, some funny, and some, I hope, thought provoking. Ultimately, it’s really just a random collection of musings on the subjects of sex, life, the universe and everything; but mostly sex.
What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?
Katie Laid Bare was simply a play on nakedness and openess. My usual internet name is KatieButterfly, because my name is Katie and I have a tattoo of a butterfly on my bum.
Which country do you live in?
Approximately how long have you been sex blogging?
On and off since 2007.
Why did you start a sex blog?
I drifted into it. My best friend had a sex blog and I used to comment on that. My first blog was an general “what’s on my mind” blog but I found the posts that got the most views/comments were those where I touched on sexual matters, so eventually I decided to create a blog completely devoted to that topic.
What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
The range of views and opinions that you encounter, and the community as a whole that can provide inspiration for blog topics.
Do you use social media? If so, where can we find you?
I’m on twitter as @KatieButterfly. My boobs have their own twitter account, @Katies_Boobs.
Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?
Some, not all. My husband knows and fully supports me, so that’s what’s important.
Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?
Not as such, although there have been things that I’ve done that afterwards I’ve thought, that might make a good blog post…
Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?
Possibly, unless I run out of ideas.
If not already a professional blog: would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?
No, it’s strictly something I do for fun.
Tell us about three other bloggers you admire, and why.
There’s no way I could narrow it down to three. All of my current favourites are listed on my site’s blogroll and more are being added as I discover them.
Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?
It’s not a preference, per se, but I tend to either write about real life anecdotes based on my own experiences, or about my views on topics that I come across in other blogs or in the news. I’ve tried to write down a few fantasies but I’m much better at writing about factual stuff or my opinions on things that make an impact on me.
