Tell us about you!

When I began my blog, I wanted it to be filled with genuine advice, information and bondage gear reviews by someone who is well experienced in the fetish scene. Many times I’ve read reviews of bondage gear where the reviewer said they really didn’t like the item when it turns out they didn’t even use it properly. I figure if I concentrate on BDSM and leave the vibrators to everyone else then everyone’s happy.

I’m a lifestyle Domme who’s just breaking into becoming a Pro-Domme. I’ve worked in the sex toy industry in many different facets for ten years now and this blog is just a new way of expressing my thoughts as I wade through extreme dildos of all shapes and sizes.

What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?

I am Mistress Selena Savage of MistressSelena.co.uk. I chose Selena because that’s the first name of a very beautiful singer who came from my home town. I wanted to be Selena De Sade but there’s already a porn star with that name which was a shame. Mistress Selena Savage was the only name available that sounded remotely cool and was still available on all the social networks. When people call me Mistress Selena I sometimes forget because I’m usually addressed as Mistress ____________ everywhere else.

Which country do you live in?

I currently live in the UK.

Approximately how long have you been sex blogging?

I started off writing on Live Journal ages ago! It was general chatting about what I got up to sexually, expressing my fantasies and exchanging sex advice in between posts about my day to day life. I believe this would have began in about 2002.

Why did you start a sex blog or reviewing sex toys?

I have always loved to write and for the last couple of years I kept thinking, I should be writing this all down! I finally got off my arse and bought a domain name.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?

I love when what I have to say makes a difference in someone’s life. I get private messages on all of my day to day social media accounts and my blog accounts that tell me there needs to be more frank information readily available.

Do you use social media? If so, where can we find you?

I am on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, Google+, Fetlife, Vine, Pinterest and Instagram. Rather than listing them all here, the links are available in the footer of my website.

Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?

Not many at the moment. I’m out of the closet as far as what I do for a living and my kinky lifestyle but I need to keep things under wraps for the moment.

Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?

Not really, I may have mentioned I wanted to try a new rope bondage design, did it in real life and then write about it later but never with the intention that it was for the blog.

Do you take part in any blog memes? If so, which ones?

I did some Toy with me Tuesday posts a while back under another name, I’m currently doing 30 Days of Kink, TMI Tuesday and Fetish Friday.

Share with us a funny or interesting experience that’s happened to you in the course of your blogging.

I don’t have sex with my submissives or bottoms, only with my husband. When I get an item to test that requires male bits I have to break it to him gently that I’m going to have to jerk him off again!

Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?

In one way or another, yes.

If not already a professional blog: would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?

I feel if I was going to earn a living from just my blog I would have to take the leap and leave my day job. I would do this so I could give by blog the attention and effort it would need in order to be successful enough to bring in a decent paycheck. I’ve seen what affiliates can earn and there is definitely a drastic difference between the full time bloggers and the hobbyists.

Tell us about three other bloggers you admire, and why.

DumbDomme – This post right here: http://dumbdomme.com/2013/04/how-to-shave-your-asshole.html

Cara Sutra – Hard working and very knowledgeable, seems to be everywhere yet still has her act well together 😉

Ruffled Sheets – I think I just like to perve his underwear pictures!

If you review sex toys, what are the top three toys you wish you could get your hands on next?

A pair of matched poi floggers from Kabunza
Bondage furniture from House of Eros
And if money were no object… the Dr. Clockwork Signature Violet Wand Kit

Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?

I prefer factual based content like reviews and guides. I’m all about education and if someone is serious about coming out into the world of fetish then I would like for them to have as much good advice and information readily available to them as possible, hopefully from people in the scene who aren’t up their own arses and have plenty of experience to reference from.
