An erotic collection of stories by the sexperts at Penthouse Variations magazine, PENTHOUSE VARIATIONS. This review is for the paperback version of the Penthouse Variations on Anal book.
By Livvy Libertine: Welcome to my first Pleasure Panel review on one of my new favorite porn anthologies, the Penthouse Variations on Quickies. The book has 248 pages and was a pretty quick read for me, despite needing to take a few breaks here and there for an orgasm or two.
By Horny Geek Girl When Cara put out a call asking for someone to review this erotic anthology, Best Women's Erotica Of The Year Vol 1, I jumped at the chance. Previous books in the series have introduced me to some great writers, and I was eager to see what this latest edition would have to offer. This was Rachel Kramer Bussel’s first year taking the helm, and I was curious to see how she would put her stamp on this latest edition.
By kmlewis: I am so glad I received this book (full title: As Kinky as You Wanna Be: Your Guide to Safe, Sane and Smart BDSM). I have read other non-fiction books and found them hard to follow and often times would not finish. I would buy the audio version, if one existed, and listen to it and often times missing crucial information due to wandering.
By Angel R Rivera / gypsylibrarian Got a little erotica reading done recently with Penthouse Variations on Oral. This volume is by the editors of Penthouse Variations. Now, I will admit that I have not read Penthouse or Penthouse Variations for some time, a deficit I need to remedy down the road. I do enjoy erotic tales featuring oral sex, so I looked forward to reading this new volume. I have to say that this collaboration with Cleis Press was a pleasant reading experience.
By Lil Miss X Well, this certainly perked up my working day! I agreed to review this book for the lovely Cara Sutra’s Pleasure Panel. The title of this book obviously suggests that it is erotic fiction, a collection of short stories.
By Cammies on the Floor Alison Tyler’s Wrapped around your finger is a continuation story. I think perhaps the storyline may have been more enjoyable to me if I had read the first book and the Dom - in a new power dynamic - wasn't so flawless. It is about a submissive named Samantha more fully understanding and coming to terms with the wants of her Dom, Jack.
By Voluptasse As the owner of a sex toy business myself, I was particularly interested in Andy Isaacson’s anecdote into the life of the JimmyJane creator Ethan Imbodan. His struggles were fascinating, relatable and even featured a cameo from the famous rapper Snoop Dog. He talks about the desires of the company and the ethos behind the JimmyJane brand and the perils of working in an unregulated market. It explores the sexuality of women and the battle of a determined entrepreneur to penetrate the most complicated female organ, the brain.
By A Winter The Big Book of Submission boasts a meaty 69 stories (I wonder why they chose that number!). Even though they are shorts, with some feeling more along the lines of flash fiction, it is a vast amount and it'll be hard for you to go through it and not find something you like. You will in fact find a little bit of everything. Straight, lesbian and gay sex, along with both male and female submission. I enjoyed reading many of the shorts in this book because it was just so easy. I could read one when I had five or ten minutes (think waiting for the bathroom to be free or for water to boil) but there are several things that could have been improved.
By G String Here's the best bit I love about this book, not only is it fantastic to quench your curiosity with lots of answers, but snuggled in the middle of each chapter is a naughty little erotic story detailing the activity in practice that's sure to really get the inspiration going.. I think this book would be fantastic for someone who's curiosity is hindered by their lack of knowledge but also for someone searching for some ideas as to what they can try next.

By Angel R. Rivera / gypsylibrarian After the foreword and the introduction, the book includes 11 chapters plus a small epilogue ("50 Items for your toy bag." No, it is not all sex toys and whips) and an appendix (a further reading list). The 11 chapters are short and get to the point with good and reassuring advice. Communication is a big theme in the book, and Taormino provides essential advice to get communication going. This is a book I definitely recommend.
By Dizzy Wizzy Slave Girls as a title conjures up thoughts of submissive women, willing and happy to do just about anything simply to please their dominant (male or female) however, something that comes across very strongly is the fact that the submissives have their very own sense of power and control, in so far as they are able to use safewords in the event that the activities become too much for them to bear.
By Miss Emma MM An incredibly quick rundown of The Picture of Dorian Gray is that it centers on a naive, beautiful young man named Dorian. He becomes fast friends with what were basically two closeted queens in that time period. Lord Henry in particular sets out to corrupt Dorian. Meanwhile Basil paints Dorian, over and over, until his portrait is perfect. He gifts the painting to Dorian who finds out something quite peculiar. It turns out that any “sin” he commits doesn’t mar his actual appearance but only that of the painting. He goes through society for many years without aging or showing any wear even though he makes progressively more startling choices.
By A Winter To many the idea of having to make time and schedule in sex is a turn-off. I know it can have that effect on me more often than not, but when we manage to overcome that and get in right frame of mind it can be some of the best sex in a long time. This is the idea the anthology leaves me with and it hits close to home. The characters are so believable in those stories that could have been boring - not unusual and exciting enough - but they prove we don’t need extremes. These, coupled with the more unexpected and novel stories give huge variety.
By Minxy Mischief I like nothing better than a good naughty read but often I feel let down, not raunchy enough or it just isn't just quite my thing. Being a lover of bondage myself I was hoping that this book would hit the spot! Expecting the usual, I put my book in my bag and started reading it on the way into town. I didn't expect the book to get right into the nitty gritty straight away. I was so wrong! I sat there squirming, hoping that no one would notice. I couldn't help but keep reading! Rope Dancer by Kathleen Tudor was right up my street! I couldn't help but imagine the feeling of the rope, I was totally lost in the story. I knew from the first story that I would really enjoy it and I did.
By Danae Another favourite of mine is Normal by Charlotte Stein. It reads as a confession from a wife, who has gotten into the habit of sexually dominating her husband, as she is discovering how dominant she can be and how submissive her husband can be to her. She is still in the process of coming to terms with that side of herself and of their relationship, and in this regard her thoughts are both interesting and downright hot. Her inner discourse plays an almost informative role in the workings of dom/sub relationships, without ever feeling like an educative guide. Stein’s writing talent is obvious, and this piece turned me on from beginning to end.
By McBitchyTits / big kinky bbw The main factor I found most interesting was the whole “ doesn’t it make me gay” and more information surrounding the stigma around anything anal, like my thinking they said “well don’t tell anyone its not their business” and that’s true. The question and answer part works well too as a lot of them were very relevant to my thinking. I still haven’t got round to testing my new skills on my partner but I’m sure I will have a quick flick back through before I do.
By Dizzy Wizzy Having been sent "Flying High" to review by the wonderful Cara Sutra, I couldn't wait to become engrossed by the many stories contained within this collection. With nearly 20 short stories to whet your appetite, all displaying various interpretations of the Mile High Club, the fantasies range from solo encounters and one night stands all the way through to group fun and voyeuristic pleasures.
By Latex Gimp The majority of the stories in Lust in Latex: Rubber Sex Stories are easy to digest in short bursts, and all involve some sort of steamy romance. For people who need a quick fix, these story collections are the way to go. The theme of this particular book collection is “rubber,” and this also includes latex, PVC clothing and the like. The collection features people who prefer to dress differently, act differently, and just be plain sexy.
