Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant Review

By BarginHunta

Described as being a super thick water-based lubricant that is also free from parabens and glycerin we couldn’t wait to take the Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant for a spin. Would it be that illusive thick but not tacky lubricant, or are we letting ourselves in for some gloopy jelly…

Packaging

The Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant is presented in a fairly squat bottle, with a pump top and a clear plastic protective cap.

Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant Review

This is a great shape for the bottle as it means that it should be sturdy enough to be placed on a surface so that the pump will be able to be used single-handed; too often bottles of this volume are of the tall skinny kind, and they then can’t easily be used as a “table-top lube”.

With its purple and black colour scheme I think that the bottle looks ‘sensual’ without appearing overly sexified. Saying that, it does state quite clearly on the label what it is, so you might not want to leave it out if you have nosey eyes around!

The rear of the Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant bottle contains a few statements, and bold claims about the lube, so it should be interesting to see if it lives up to these!

  • Super thick texture conducts and enhances vibration.
  • The addition of Aloe is never sticky and leaves skin velvety soft.

Initial Thoughts

The Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant looks great in its bottle and has an easily removed (and refitted!) lid to protect the pump top, so this bottle would be great for travel too.

The pump head has a little purple “stopper” in it when you first get the lube, which presumably keeps it sealed air-tight and leak proof.

The pump is sturdy and works reasonably well, although it did take quite a few pumps to get it started the first time; presumably this is partially due to the thickness of the lube.

This is definitely a gel rather than a liquid, even to the extent that it can take a little bit of convincing for the dispensed gel to separate from the nozzle of the pump!
Once dispensed though it is a clear smooth gel with no noticeable scent.

How It Feels

Rubbed between the fingertips the Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant provides a smooth, slick surface without feeling oily at all.

I spread a small amount on the back of my hand and left it for several minutes, interested to see whether this thick gel (with its lower water content) would become dry or tacky, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it was still reasonably slippery. Of course, as with any water based lubricant you can always add a small amount of water to rejuvenate it, but I haven’t yet found a need for this.

The lubricant is marketed as non-drip and it’s true to its word. Even with a fairly decent ‘blob’ at quite an angle it will ‘sit’ quite happily for a minute or two before starting to slip.

This thick consistency works really well for solo play as it means you can apply the Wicked sensual care Toy Love lubricant either to yourself, or your toy, (or both!) and not have to worry about it ‘running away’ before you actually put it to good use!

Whether the “super thick texture conducts and enhances vibration” or not I cannot be certain, but it certainly does not have any detrimental effects. Overall I found it worked well for its intended purpose and I’d certainly use it again.

Cleaning

Being a water based lube, despite its super thick ‘gel’ consistency it cleans up really easily; I even pumped some Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant straight onto my hands, ‘massaged’ it in, and then tried to wash it off, and all was good.

Summary

Overall this is a great lube in a well-designed bottle that makes it simple to dispense, and top up during play if needs be, without getting the bottle covered in lube.
It’s not clear whether you should reinsert the stopper after use, but we’ve tended to in order to try and avoid that jelly-like congealing you can sometimes get in the nozzle of water-based lubricants between uses.

If we had to find any negative points one would be that due to the bottle label being completely opaque it is not easy to know how much Wicked Sensual Care Toy Love Water Based Lubricant you have left, so you’ll have to guess by the weight of the bottle, but this really is a minor niggle.

It seems to be priced at around the right point for this volume of lubricant, and is certainly one we would consider getting again.

Overall rating 10/10
