Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator Review

By Pleasure Panel reviewer Louise Lace

I received the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator to review, the item was provided by Cara’s Pleasure Panel – courtesy of MEO.

Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator Review

The Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator box was sealed in a cellophane wrap with a MEO sticker placed in the centre providing reassurance that the product had not been tampered with. The Cute Bella is encased in a pale green and white box, the sides of which unfold to reveal the Cute Bella nestled within.

The box proudly displays a large picture of the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator, meaning that it is not very discreet, however, due to the Cute Bella design it is not immediately obvious that it is a sex toy. The colour of the box coordinated perfectly with the colour of the product, nice touch Toy Joy.

The Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator I received is actually spring green in colour, unfortunately, the accompanying photographs have not captured the colour as well as I would have liked, as well as the spring green, a candy pink, aqua blue or violet purple coloured versions are also featured on the box. The sides inform me that the product is body-safe, waterproof, silent and has a one-touch button to operate 7 pulsating functions. The reverse of the packaging states that the “…product is intended for use as a novelty product only” and is “for external use only.” It also gives details of manufacturer and their website address.

The sides are magnetically sealed and pop apart easily revealing more of the bright green, almost Spring themed images and product bio. The Bella is part of the Toy Joy Cute range, a group of 8 adult toys, described in the product bio as “Pleasure Providers” ranging from insertable eggs to penis rings. Each of the available toys in the range is pictured and named on the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator packaging, I have to admit that there are some items that have pricked my curiosity. I shall be looking into those a little further, especially if the Bella lives up to the Toy Joy promise of a “…real power player for all your external pleasure. My seven skills will give you the time of your life!…”

While I do like the way the Toy Joy packaging opens and the sneaky peak at the other products in the range, the bright, large images mean that I will be unable to retain the box for storage purposes and there doesn’t appear to be a storage bag included in the box.

Enough on the packaging, I know what you really want to know is whether the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator really is cute, well I can confirm that visually, the Bella is super sweet, the spring green colour is bright and makes such a refreshing change from the usual ‘shocking pink’ or ‘skin toned’ toys.

Shaped a little like a skittle from the bowling alley – a round, ball like head with a chunky shaft, the main body of the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator is manufactured from 100% pure Silicone and the battery compartment (yes, battery, more on that later) is made from ABS plastic. The Bella is smooth and soft to the touch, it has an ever so slight smell when first taken out of the packaging but it fades quickly and is not offensive in the slightest. The shaft of the Bella also features an embossed CE symbol, although, depending on the angle you look at it, this may appear back to front (this didn’t confuse me at all… honest)

The only crevice/ridge on the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator is at the base where the silicone ends and the battery compartment cap screws on. The Cute Bella requires 4 x AA batteries which are not provided, luckily I had already stocked up on batteries in the run up to Christmas. I am surprised that the Toy Joy Cute Bella is powered by batteries and is not rechargeable or mains powered like many other ‘external use only’ vibrating massagers. Retailing at approximately £60, if I were to purchase this product for myself, or any other ‘Pleasure Provider’ product over £50, I would not expect to have to buy batteries too.

The battery compartment is accessible by twisting the plastic base and sliding out the battery holding compartment. I had to clean my specs and shine my phone light into the compartment to see properly, but the compartment does have pictures to show which way to load the batteries. Once loaded the compartment slips back into the Bella and the plastic base twists back into place easily. Although the weight of the Bella increases with the addition of the batteries it is still a manageable weight to control when in use.

Operating the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator from MEO is easy enough, there is only one button to press. The main body of the Bella is matte silicone, the operating button is smooth and shiny, this change in texture assists in locating the button (which is quite high up the shaft) whilst the product is in use.

Press the operating button once to turn on and then again to progress through the variety of pulsating settings. Unfortunately you cannot go backwards through the settings, if you happen to skip past the one you prefer you will have to click through all of the other settings to get back to the one you wanted. To turn off the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator, hold down the operating button for a few seconds. The Bella starts at the first setting every time it is switched on, it doesn’t ‘remember’ your favourite settings or the last setting used.

The patterns range from steady vibrations to a mixture of varying length pulsations:

Steady vibrations
Super fast pulsations
A long vibration that increases in strength
Intense short pulses
3 then 2 short pulses
Long vibrations with a short pause
A finale of a wave effect of mild then stronger vibrations

Personally I prefer external stimulation to penetration with vibrating toys, my body reacts best when I crank things up to the fastest, rumbliest, steady vibration and skip past the sometimes frustrating, stop-start pulsating patterns. That said, with its variety of settings, the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator is sure to have a settings suitable for everyone, including me. The only way to find out is to put it to the test…

Firstly, silent it is not! Whilst not the loudest toy in my collection, the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator is still loud enough to be heard through a closed door when used, even under the heavier, winter bedsheets. I wont be packing it in my Christmas overnight bag for my stay at the Mother in Laws.

I began with the first setting, the Bella started with a gentle press of the operating button and a low constant vibration tingled my senses, its enough to awaken the nerve endings but not enough to bring me to orgasm. Moving up to the second setting, I was expecting a more powerful steady vibration, but no, the second setting is super fast vibrations that could almost be constant but not quite. I found this to be arousing but again not quite enough to bring me to climax. Hoping that there was a more powerful, steady vibration somewhere in the settings, I powered through and clicked again.

The stop-start settings as predicted were not my cup of tea, the crescendoing vibration of the wave setting at the end did offer an alternative to a constant vibration and given enough time, was successful in bringing me to orgasm… eventually!

The MEO website describes the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator as an anal stimulator, with this in mind I called on hubby to see if the Bella lives up to MEO’s claim of “…provides you with extremely horny anal sensations…”

Whilst hubby enjoyed the vibrations and pulsating patterns provided by the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator, he much prefers playing with a toy which can be used both internally and for anal penetration. Having to swap toys is a bit of a mood killing frustration for him.

The Cute Bella is no comparison to some mains powered external massagers in terms of power, but it does pack a bit of a punch for a battery powered toy and is more portable. As its waterproof you can even take it into the bathroom with you… speaking of water… the Bella can be cleaned using warm soapy water or toy cleaner. Oh, and remember to use water-based lubricant, silicone-based versions could damage the silicone of the Cute Bella.

It’s such a shame the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator is not rechargeable. I fear it may be destined for the bottom of my toy box once this set of batteries run out, that’s providing they don’t get lost between sessions as it is not advisable to leave batteries in any device when not in use and there’s no storage pouch included to keep them all together.

I’d love to give the Toy Joy Cute Bella Vibrator a high score because it did bring me some joy in the bedroom and it is very cute. Unfortunately, the lack of constant vibration settings, the noise levels when in use despite the ‘Silent’ claim on the packaging, the lack of storage bag/pouch, and the fact that it is powered by batteries, mean that I feel a score of 7/10 is more suitable.

Thank you to Cara and MEO for sending me the Cute Bella free of charge, in exchange for an open and honest review, hubby and I enjoyed putting it through its paces.

Louise x
