Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo Review

By Aravara

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo was my first ever dildo and I chose it because I wanted something simple with a bit of everything that would give me an idea of what type of stimulation I like.

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo Review

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo has a simple, clean-cut appearance and a flared base that is harness-compatible and therefore safe for anal use (the flared base prevents the dildo from getting lost in your rectum).  It has a decent girth, has a diameter of 4.5cm at its largest point and has 18cm of insertable length.  I’d classify it as semi-realistic due to the hint of gentle veining on the shaft and a defined coronal ridge and frenulum but without extra detailing like wrinkles, textured skin, or balls.  The surface is very smooth with the only crevice being at the coronal ridge.

Material

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo Review

My Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo is made of firm, 100% medical-grade silicone, meaning that it is non-porous and phthalate-free so it won’t harbour bacteria or leach toxic chemicals into your body over time.  It is not part of the dual-density silicone line that Tantus is famous for (firm silicone core with a softer silicone outer layer) so it is firm throughout, however despite its firmness it does have some give and bend to it.  It has a glossy finish to it that seems a bit draggy when dry but when lubed up actually makes it very nice and slippery.

Cleaning and Care

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and warm water and the smooth, streamlined appearance makes it very quick and easy so you don’t have to worry about overlooking a nook or cranny.  It can be sanitized by using a 1:10 bleach solution, by boiling it, or by running it through the dishwasher.  This should be done before first use, when switching from anal to vaginal play, and whenever it is being shared between people (it’s also a good idea to sanitize all toys every once in a while).

Since the Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo is a silicone toy it should only be used with water-based lubricants as silicone lube can ruin silicone toys.  I have used it several times with Sliquid Silk, a hybrid water-based lube with 12% silicone in it, and had no problems.  If you’re unsure about a lube you want to try, always spot test on the base of the toy to see if it reacts.

Storage

Tantus sex toys don’t come with a storage pouch, which is a shame because I find that the Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo tends to attract dust and lint fairly easily.  I dry mine with a microfiber cloth and store it in a satin pouch to keep it clean (it seems to somehow magically attract dust and hair if I put it in my toy storage without putting it in a bag.

My Experience

The first time I used Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo I worked up to it by first using a clit vibe to get sufficiently aroused, lubed it up, then tried inserting it.  I found that it went in smoothly except for the slight “pop” as my PC muscle went over the coronal ridge.  This ridge does provide pretty significant G-spot stimulation, especially since it is made with firm silicone.  Personally, I enjoyed this dildo the most by using it for PS (perineal sponge) stimulation rather than G-spot stimulation, so I just flipped it with the ridge facing down which provided a very pleasurable sensation.

I think apart from the ridge the most noticeable thing about this dildo is the girth.  I prefer to clamp down with my PC muscle rather than do much thrusting and I found that the girth intensified my orgasms, almost as if the pulses were stronger because my vaginal muscles had to work harder to contract against the firmness of the shaft.

Pros/Cons

Pros:

-Non-porous, non-toxic, body-safe medical-grade silicone

-Great for G-spot (or PS!)  stimulation

-Glossy finish makes it extra slippery with lube

-Provides a nice, full feeling

-Long enough to leave a good handle to hold

-Harness-compatible and anal-safe

-Semi-realistic and simple, streamlined appearance (my personal preference)

-Tantus only makes body-safe toys (so you’re supporting a great company!)

Cons:

-An absolute hair, dust and lint magnet

-May be too firm for some and can make vigorous thrusting treacherous (due to the chance of the head hitting the cervix)

Overall Impression

Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo Review

Would I recommend this toy to others? Yes. Tantus The Vamp Silicone Dildo is a staple in my toy box. I reach for it whenever I want a full, firm feeling and something that I can clamp down on. If you’re looking for a simply-styled dildo that has a good girth, is semi-realistic, and has a defined coronal ridge without any extreme ribbed texture to it then this is a good choice.

The glossy finish makes this dildo good for thrusting as long as you use a bit of lube first and are careful about hitting your cervix; the head is very firm so when cervix bumps happen they can be a bit painful.

The firm silicone is good for hitting the G-spot but for those who like soft silicone toys then this may be a bit too firm.

One of the only negatives and a final note to those with pets, a proper storage pouch is highly recommended because of how much it attracts hair, dust and lint.
