Ever since my partner discovered that masturbation felt much better with a splashing of lubricant, he has been on board to try everything I’ve suggested. He has been loving the masturbation creams that he reviewed for previous Pleasure Panel rounds but still wanted something that was strictly water-based to use with his silicone masturbators and vibrators. Simplistic presentation is always a bonus for us when dealing with intimate products and System JO have done a great job of that here. The 120ml tube of System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant has a classic black and silver colour scheme and all of the information you could ever need. The front shows off the branding and product name whilst the back reads a product description, directions for use (in a couple of different languages) and a full list of ingredients. It has a flip-top cap that opens to reveal the dispenser. You need to unscrew the lid before the first use to remove the hygienic foil seal in order to release the product.
Before use, he did a patch test on his arm to make sure that the System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant would be compatible with his skin. He is rather sensitive and doesn’t like to take chances of having negative reactions on his intimate areas. He has experienced problems in the past with products that contained glycerin and/or parabens so he’s extra careful now and insists on doing a patch test before applying it to himself. He left this lubricant on for around ten minutes and after ten minutes of no irritation, he deemed it suitable to use on his penis. If you would rather avoid glycerin and/or parabens at all costs then this won’t be the product for you although I am pleased to report that it contains no propylene glycol.
Condom compatible, easy to remove and suitable with sex toys of all materials, the System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant is a great all-rounder and everyday lubricant. It was designed to moisturize and enhance sexual activity, with the primary focus being his solo sessions. It can be used for play with a partner and penetrative sex but due to the ingredients involved, we haven’t used it for these purposes as I prefer to avoid them. I did however do a patch test myself just in case we ever need to use this lubricant for those reasons and I had no issues. This may be due to the fact that the glycerin is purely plant-based rather than being artificial.
The System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant comes out of the tube clear in colour and thick in texture. Gel lubricants tend to have the best consistency and my partner said that was definitely the case with this product. It doesn’t feel tacky or stringy as it’s thicker than the average water-based lubricant but he did mention a slightly sticky feeling on the skin after use. He could easily remove it with a quick rinse or wipe and the skin would then feel soft and nourished so he didn’t consider the small amount of residue a deal breaker but others may feel differently about this so it’s something to keep in mind.
Whilst the System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant worked well for him during his masturbation sessions he still prefers to use a masturbation cream when he’s solely using his hand. This is because the silicone included in those creams  aids in making the product last longer and providing comfortable protection against friction. My partner only tends to use his hands for edging sessions, where lasting long enough is an essential feature in a lubricant, and water-based options simply cannot compete with hybrids in that department. System JO’s For Him H2O Gel Lubricant only lasts around fifteen minutes or so before it starts to dry up. After that it needs to be topped up or reactivated with a few drops of water.
In regards to scent, there wasn’t one. Neither of us could pick up on anything noteworthy so that was good news for us as we hate products that smell like a tube of chemicals. Taste wise, there wasn’t much going on there either. It wasn’t a positive or negative encounter to taste it so it wouldn’t matter if accidental contact was made with it but I wouldn’t recommend using it for any sort of oral fun. Why use this for that purpose when there are tons of flavoured lubes on the market?
Overall, he liked the System JO For Him H2O Gel Water Based Personal Lubricant for it’s intended uses. It is what he’s been reaching for most recently when he’s wanted to use a sex toy of some description, whether that’s one of his disposable strokers, massage wands or a silicone vibrator. It works well with any toy material and is his new go-to for masturbation sessions that involve using things other than this hand. It has great texture, lasts long enough to get the job done and has no unpleasant odours. The only downsides are the inclusion of parabens and the slightly sticky residue that occurs after use.
