Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Review

By Cara Sutra

I was especially pleased to test this set and have the chance to review it, as it’s been on my personal wishlist a long time. Happy to help, Bondara agreed to send me the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set, which meant I could get down and dirty with my partner.

Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set Review

With friendly contact from Bondara as well as professional dispatch, I soon received my discreetly wrapped package containing the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set.

Presentation

The faux leather zipped up container reveals no clue to the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators inside. In fact if you didn’t know about urethral sounds, chances are you wouldn’t have a clue what they’re for once you opened it either.

Kebabs, anyone?

But seriously, the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators case simply unzips and opens book-like to reveal a glistening and alluring full set of sounds. They are shiny in a silver colour, polished, stainless steel. These sounds are ‘rosebud’ style – meaning that the tip is meant for insertion. With the smaller sizes you could insert more but as a safety precaution I personally would stick with just the ends.

Lined up in order of size, each of the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators has the size (of the tip) marked at the top – given in mm. Working in increments of 1 mm, from 2mm all the way to 14mm. The length of the end of the sound all differ, for a truly personal experience. The total length of each sound is 12 inches.

The Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set’s ‘booklet’ style case even has a polythene sheet which is attached to the right hand side inner, which lays between the two sides when closed, the stop the sounds hitting each other, scratching and making noise – keeping them in optimum and like new condition.

Top Tips

If you don’t know what sounds are, or how you use them, here’s some pointers.

Urethral sounds are used on a man, inserted into the tip of his penis, to stimulate the tube called the urethra (pee tube). It is a very intimate experience full of mutual trust and respect, and can give enormous feelings of pleasure and satisfaction to the man when done correctly. Things that are fairly common sense:

  • Make sure his penile area and your hands are clean before starting (in medical fetish, latex gloves are normally worn, either due to the users’ choice or to increase the sense of a clinical environment and heighten atmosphere)
  • Use the sounds on him once he has an erection, this is when the urethra will be at it’s most receptive to the probing of the sounds
  • Make sure you use a lubricant with the sounds to ease the entry and reduce friction – this can be water based, silicone (which is entirely skin/body safe) or even a sterile lubricant for additional safety. There are even lube syringe applicators available for increased accuracy of lubricant application.

Note: I would not recommend the use of oil based lubricants or sensation lubes such as warming, flavoured, tingling or similar – as these may unnecessarily irritate the delicate membrane and skin inside the penis and urethra. Not fun!

How They Feel

Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set Review

The Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators are amazingly fun to use. Sure, there is the initial sense (from him) of, oh my god. You want to do what with my penis?! But luckily my man was open and receptive to something new and trusted me with his pride and joy. Although we definitely started on the first one. And we didn’t make it to the last one. May have to wait a few years for that one!

Using Give Lube water based lube, once he had an erection it was pretty simple to insert one of the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators. I don’t know who was more nervous, he or I! Mostly as if anything went wrong he wouldn’t let me near it again. Well, not with sounds, anyway.

He describes the feeling as “weird, but nice. Very nice.”

I think at about 5 mm we got to the “ooh I think that’s about maximum, thank you very much!” stage and went on to… well… other things. The sounds had definitely prepared him (and his penis) well, he was completely ready for action! Also having my hands hold his cock steady all that time must have helped too…

Summary

The Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators are gorgeously presented and have a real feel of high quality and luxury. In the stock image the case has a red inner but in reality the case is black inside – this doesn’t detract in any way from the contents however.

The Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators definitely look and feel a lot more expensive than they are, I am shocked that this set is for sale at the low price of ÂŁ41.99. I have seen smaller sets than this for more than double that price.

Being stainless steel the Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators will last us many years (so plenty of time to work up to that monster max one *winks*) and they represent a fantastic investment into his (and my shared) pleasure.

An absolute bargain and an unintimidating way to start to explore the pleasures of urethral sounding – or alternatively to obtain a complete kit for more experienced players.

Where To Buy Yours

The Rosebud Urethral Sounds & Dilators Set is available from Bondara for ÂŁ41.99. They worked as they’re meant to and I can’t find any fault with them at all.

Thanks Bondara for another amazing product to review.

  1. I really like the look of these, I used to self catheterise for medical reasons many years ago and still remember how good it felt (and that was without lube). All I need now is the right lady to use them on me, unfortunately the wife is too vanilla
