When Mel asked if I fancied reviewing any of the products on the well-stocked online sex shop Voluptasse, I knew instantly where I’d be heading. A few weeks earlier the shoes category had opened, with a variety of sexy heels and gothic boots which had definitely caught my eye. You can keep up to date with my shoes & boots collection in this photo gallery.
After carefully considering the options (a task which obviously required my full attention for quite some time) I settled on the Demonia Muerto 1026 Boots. These were sent quickly and discreetly by Voluptasse – although I doubt anyone would mind their postie knowing that they’re receiving such gorgeous shoes in the post. They were also sent free of charge in exchange for this fair and honest review.
First Impressions & Packaging
The Demonia Muerto Boots come in a sturdy, large shoe box which has the Demonia logo emblazoned across the lid of the black container. The side clearly shows the style and size contained inside.
Opening the box there’s some branded tissue paper, within which the boots are safely encased. The toes are filled with tissue paper which needs removing before wear; this has been inserted so the toe areas of the boots keep their shape through storage and transportation. They were absolutely pristine and so spectacular they almost took my breath away.
Mostly consisting of a black, leather look material, the Demonia Muerto Boots have a Dominant, sassy feel and scream confidence. The silver coloured skulls at the end of each decorative buckle add a sexy goth look, while the laces tied in criss-cross over the top is a signature part of Demonia (and other, such as New Rock) goth boots.
Fastenings & Fit
Although the Demonia Muerto Boots have buckles and laces, they’re just for decorative effect. You can do the laces to the front each time if you like, but I just tied them the once and used the zip on the inside part of each boot to wear.
These boots come up to mid-calf on me, as they’re supposed to. I don’t usually get this style of boot, typically preferring ankle, knee or thigh length, but it really works for this style. They have a very punky, rock chick feel.
I’m a UK 7 which is a US 10 – don’t let anyone tell you it’s a US 9. US sizes unfortunately seem to equate to UK half sizes, so unless you’re a very small version of your UK size, be sure to get the US size which will actually fit you. Thankfully Voluptasse shows the UK sizes for UK customers, ensuring you’ll get a pair that fits. My US 10 Demonia Muerto Boots fit very comfortably and I’m really pleased.
As I was saying, the Demonia Muerto Boots fit me extremely comfortably. The material starts off quite stiff (but not as much as the Demonia Crypto Boots) but loosens up to be very flexible once you wear them.
Even though the heels look quite high, the boots are really comfortable to wear and I don’t hesitate to wear them on occasions even where I know I’ll have to be standing for a while – or even dancing!
The heels of the Demonia Muerto Boots are in a chrome metal and have a bone style to capture that ‘Muerto’ influence along with the skulls on the buckles. They measure 5.5 inches in height from floor to top of the chrome heel. However, there’s a platform on the sole of 1.5 inches, making the ‘real feel’ heel height 4 inches only. Therefore they’re very comfortable yet still give you that intimidating heel height which is so striking.
These Demonia Muerto Boots are absolutely stunning. They’re eyecatching, quick and easy to fasten and comfortable to wear even for a long and standing type event. I recently gave them a full work out on a girl date and I am always genuinely sad when I have to take them off. If you’re a bit of a goth, emo, rock chick or punky type then you’ll most likely fall in love with these boots at first sight. I certainly did and I am very proud and happy to add them to my shoes and boots collection.
