Pjur Steel Gel Review
By Pleasure Panel reviewer Nat and Tom
We received the Pjur Steel Gel from Cara as part of the Pleasure Panel. Thank you! I have to say that we were happy with the presentation, as the packaging is non-intimidating, couple-friendly and welcoming to those who may be new to products like this. The sides of the plain blue and black box feature a quick description of the product, brief instructions for use and a list of ingredients.
Out of the bottle, the gel has a cloudy, white consistency and is definitely gel like in texture. It initially is rather thick, but this soon thins out once you begin to massage the product into the skin. It also becomes clear in colour as it begins to absorb. It leaves the skin feeling refreshed, smooth and hydrated after use, with no greasy or sticky aftermath to remove. It seems to have quite a minty scent, that’s not overwhelming or noticeable unless you’re up close, but it’s quite similar to that of a peppermint flavoured/scented lubricant. It doesn’t match that in taste or have any particular flavourings, so oral sex after use isn’t an issue.
Before it’s used, Pjur recommend doing a patch test on the forearm. We both made sure to do this as we both have sensitive skin. Neither of us had a reaction to the product in anyway, so we moved on to using it for its intended purpose. The Pjur Steel Gel is described as a massage gel, but it also claims to be able to help men achieve maximum sexual performance by improving blood circulation and skin sensitivity.
It can be used as a massage gel on most areas of the body, including the intimate locations. We found that it didn’t particularly excel as a massage product for areas such as the back, arms and chest, but it was well suited to the nether regions. I’m not sure if this is because we also tried the Pjur Xtend Cream that worked fabulously as a general skin care and massage product, but we won’t be returning to the Pjur Steel Gel for that purpose having tried both.
My partner applied the gel to the length of his penis, massaging it in well and then waited for a moment or two. He told me that he was beginning to feel more sensitive than usual, as he was experiencing some mild tingling and warming sensations. I am usually the one experiencing this from female based products, so it was a strange experience for him at first, but after a couple of uses, he says that it’s a feeling that he’s really starting to like. The boost in circulation also helped his erection to stay firm, but it didn’t add any additional time like the Pjur Xtend Cream does, due to the stimulating effect which actually made him orgasm faster than usual.
Overall, we would recommend this to guys who are looking for an extra dose of stimulation in the bedroom (or wherever else) and a boost in firmness. In our experience, it does both of those things and it’s a nice enough product. It doesn’t have nasty texture or smell, which are two of the most important things in our book and we’re definitely glad to have had the chance to try it. I still think we prefer the Xtend Cream to this, so it won’t be a regular use product for us, but when he’s craving some extra stimulation, we might swap!
