Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo Review

From none at all, to two ceramic sex toys in my collection and pretty much instantaneously.  I’m very happy to review this brand new item from Pipedream Products.

Packaging

The Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo comes packaged in a container very similar to the Icicles Glass Dildos also produced by Pipedream Products. The magnetic closure front flap opens to reveal a window through which you can view the dildo, then you simply lift the top flap of the box to slide out the foam protective encased toy.

The Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo measures 7.75 inches in height with a maximum circumference on the shaft of 5.75 inches.

Hollow Feature

The interesting feature of the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo as opposed to other ceramic dildos is that it’s hollow. There’s a silicone stopper, or bung, in the end which you remove and fill the dildo with warm or cold water. Don’t use boiling water, obviously, unless you have a lead-lined vagina.

The stopper was very difficult to get out from the bottom of the dildo and I did need to use a rounded edged knife. If you have long nails you’ll probably break them getting the stopper out. I can’t say whether this is the same for all the hollow ceramic dildos in this range or whether I have a particularly stubborn one. Perhaps it will loosen up in time.

This is the main reason why the overall score was an 8 instead of even higher.

Filling The Dildo

As you can turn this Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo into a ‘hot humpable’ or a ‘chilly willy’, it’s great all year round. I know most dildos are all-year-round kinda objects, but it’s great to have a pre-warmed one for winter, particularly as the ceramic material is cold to the touch initially. Same in a heatwave, if you use cold water then the dildo is certain to cool down the parts an ice lolly doesn’t (or is that shouldn’t…) reach.

We had a giggle realising you could put your fave non-fizzy tipple into it, and not even have to get up for a drink afterwards!

Design

Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo ReviewAs for the design of the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo, it has a certain Alice in Wonderland feel to it. It could almost be the tail of the Cheshire Cat. With bold, colourful paint strokes to this hand painted item, it feels very much a modern objet d’art. Whether the colours and designs of the Ceramix range appeal, will of course come down to individual preference. They’re a vivid and interesting alternative to the usual pinks and purples, sure to delight the many alternative sex toy style seekers in the reviewing community.

Fragility

Because the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo is ceramic, and even more so because it’s hollow, it’s a fragile piece which needs to be cleaned and stored with care. If you drop it on to a hard floor it will break. The surface has been glazed professionally and safely, and as well as being superbly easy to clean with sex toy cleaner, you can also use this dildo in the bath or shower.

The surface of the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo is ultra smooth and feels sublime teamed with water based lubricant, which is my personal top choice. You could also use silicone lubricant if you wish, or if you want to use the dildo in a watery environment.

During Use

During use you can really feel the ripples on the shaft, after the smoothness of the black and white striped tip area.  Once inside the vagina, the curve of the tip makes for intense G-spot stimulation, and the larger than usual size means that this dildo was spectacularly pleasurable, even for a sex toys veteran like me. The flared base makes it easy to handle and keep control of too, whether I am using it by myself or my partner is invited to play along with me.

Yes the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo is cold when you first insert it, unless you have filled it with warm water. I find the chill adds to the stimulating effect, but I know it’s not for everyone. The great thing about this dildo is it’s versatility though, so you can make it as chilly or as warm as you prefer.

Storage

Between uses I store my Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo in the box and foam insert it came in, to keep it safe. I don’t want it clanking around with other sex toys and possibly getting damaged in the sex toys drawer.

As a dildo it’s best for those who like unyieldingly rigid sex toys, and something different from a glass dildo to temperature play enthusiasts. The flared base on the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo makes it compatible with O ring style strap on sex harnesses, but you do have to take things slowly as it’s a rigid dildo with no flexibility or give. I had to use lashings of water based lubricant – and it was better suited to vaginal use than anal, although those who like big ‘n bold anal toys will welcome this generously proportioned member.

Conclusion

I feel that the Pipedream Ceramix No 5 Hollow Ceramic Dildo is a lovely addition to the sex toy collection of those who really know what they want from their sex toys. Newbies tend to go for the mass-market favourites – rabbit vibrators, bullet vibrators, butt plugs – but a ceramic, flared base, hollow dildo with a hand painted eye catching design will give a new lease of life to your sex toys box regardless of how many years you’ve been using and collecting them.

  1. Do you know if there’s a risk of the toy breaking if one has very strong muscles and likes to clench down on ones toys? I really like the look of this one, but it being hollow actually makes me very afraid to try it out.

    • I sincerely doubt whether anyone could break this with their vaginal muscles, it’s very strong indeed.
I can’t obviously say 100% but I have no fears about using it vaginally. Hope that helps!

  2. I’ve never owned a ceramic toy but I have 4 glass toys so I know about the rigidity and the temp play. I’m rather curious about this one, considering making it my first ceramic toy
