Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms Review
By Pleasure Panel reviewer Kinkalicious K
The Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms (available from Freedoms Shop) come in wallet sized packs of 3 wrapped in a packet for instructions. There is a long thin strip for each condom and each must be used in a specific order from the pack. Having a read through the instructions I was a little nonplussed as it seemed there was a note on them saying which side up the penis touches. “Oh well” I thought, “Let’s give it a go!”. The comedy of errors began.
When initially opened from the packet the Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms are unfolded and the green strip indicating which side comes into contact with the penis (saying “Penis This Side”) could be seen. We tried these a couple of times and the strip fell off when taking them out of the packet on one occasion and fell of a little after on another.
After the initial removing from packaging and unfolding the condom is pulled open, placed over a “completely dry” penis and then pulled down. The Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms mould themselves to the body with heat of the penis and the lube it contains and leaves a 2 to 3 cm lip around base of the penis. It’s quite specific about the penis not being pre-lubed or wet before contact, presumably because the magic that moulds it to the skin of the penis requires the heat of the body to activate and doesn’t want you mixing it with anything else. Now perhaps it’s just me, but getting a completely dry penis just before I put a condom on it is… challenging. Perhaps you’ve had a bit of oral as foreplay or there is a bit of pre-cum, but its generally not completely dry. And you know rubbing it off before condom application doesn’t for the sexy times, make.
Still, we persevered with the Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms. A condom was not going to defeat us. Even if it was a weird one. Once it was on you could use whatever lube you liked with it, which was good as due to the somewhat hilarity making exercise of getting it on I wasn’t as turned on as I had been initially. Now, it claims to be the thinnest condom and so much so you cant tell its there. This does appear to be the case, indeed so much so my partner had to check a few times. It seemed to be robust. At the end remove and discard as per usual.
All in all I hated the Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms. Sure they seemed robust enough but there was so much faff! My partner was pretty damn wary of them and the sticker falling off didn’t fill either of us with confidence. Due to the way they react to heat to mold to the penis you wouldn’t be able to use them for toys and the 3 cm lip around base might be off putting to some.
TLDR: An unusual design of condom which didn’t inspire confidence in myself or my partner. Appeared robust but pretty damn faffy. Once on felt pretty thin and indeed these Pasante Unique Non Latex Condoms do seem to be the marmite of the condom world, in that you love them or hate them. I could see them being really useful for non transference of contact STDs such as HPV due to the lip but requires a bit of dedication due to the faff involved.
