I was lucky enough to be selected by Cara to review the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug courtesy of Loving Joy as part of the August Pleasure Panel. I love my MEO Big Johnny Steel Dildo so couldn’t wait to try a metal butt plug. This one has the added bonus of a clear gemstone on the base; very pretty.
Packaging
My delivery arrived super fast. Once I discarded the jiffy bag, the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug was well wrapped in tissue within a disposable bag. This was then nestled in a black velvet, drawstring pouch which can be used to store and protect it when not in use.
The string did unravel in my hand when I first opened the pouch, so I will have to be careful to tie the strings when storing the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug to avoid it from falling out in my toy box. As you can see in the photos, the bag attracts fluff and dust but the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug is easily de-fluffed with a quick wipe before use.
Material
The product tag informs me that the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug is manufactured from stainless iron in China and is sold as a novelty item only. Loving Joy describes this toy as stainless steel so that did confuse me a little. Luckily, a fellow panellist had a similar item in her ‘to review’ pile and had already queried the material with the company. They confirmed that the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug is indeed stainless steel, and not stainless iron as described on the label.
Care Details
There are no care instructions on the label and as there is no further information supplied with the product I quickly checked the Loving Joy website for more information. Here I learned that the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug is compatible with water, silicone or oil based lubricants, easy to clean. As it gave no further details, I assume I can clean it with warm, soapy water or toy cleaner and is suitable for temperature play. All sounds good so far.
First Impressions
Unwrapping the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug, my first thought was blumming heck its cold! I would have to find a way to warm it up before went anywhere near my butt!
The plug itself is completely seamless, not a single join or blemish anywhere. It is highly polished and very shiny. The base is finished off with a beautiful clear jewelled gemstone base which is cut in a kaleidoscope pattern. This twinkles with the light and will give a pretty view to anyone who happens to be lucky enough to see this toy in position. My photography skills do not do the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug justice!
Size
The Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug is a nice size. The total length is approximately 12cm including stem and base and at the widest point around 5cm.
I don’t think this would be too scary to an anal toy beginner. It would be more than ideal for someone who has moved on from small plugs, but is not quite brave enough for a wide plug, like me. While I consider myself as a bit of a size queen when it comes to dildos, anal play is still fairly new to me and large anal toys scare me.
Design
Unlike most teardrop shaped butt plugs, the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug has an elongated pointed tip for easy insertion and gradually widens before rounding off to meet the stem. The base is more than wide enough to ensure that the product wont accidentally submerge itself fully into the anal passage, so you can rest assured that trips to A&E to have it surgically removed are highly unlikely.
In the hand this toy doesn’t seem too heavy. It weighs approximately 190g. I may feel differently about the weight of it once it is in place and I am moving around!
Preparations For Use
With a slick of lube and after a gentle warm up in a bowl of warm water – steel is an excellent conductor of heat so please ensure you check the temperature before use if you choose to warm the butt plug – I was ready to introduce my butt to the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug.
Due to the rounded narrow tip the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug gently eased its way into my anal passage. It is quite a long toy so felt like it took a while to reach the wider section. The widest part did require some breathing exercises to get into place but slipped in comfortably with a little pressing.
Once the widest part popped in to place, the narrow shaft ensured that my muscles contracted and gripped the plug. The jewelled base sat comfortably between my cheeks and I felt confident that the toy was in place. At this point I was laying on my back on my bed so I had no fear of the toy falling out.
During Sex
For our first session with the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug I remained laying down and kept the plug in place as my husband penetrated me. He was able to feel the plug and gained some additional pleasure himself as he moved within me. I was more than aware of the feeling of fullness during this session and I am happy to confirm that the plug stayed in place throughout,. At no point did I feel any pain.
Solo Enjoyment
The next time I used the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug I was on my own and I wanted to see how it would feel when I walked around the house. As before I inserted the toy whilst laying down and once in place I stood up. The weight of the plug was immediately obvious and I found myself clenching my cheeks to keep the toy in place.
Walking like a demented duck, I gingerly made my way down the stairs to make a good old cup of tea. I did feel the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug slipping as I took the stairs. To help keep the plug in place as I pottered about, I slipped on a tight fitting thong which made a big difference. The plug no longer felt like it would pop out of my body, this was a good solution while I learned to adjust to the weight.
Sitting Down
Walking around I was more than aware of the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug and it did arouse me knowing it was there, where I did have a slight problem was when I sat down. In a sitting position, the elongated tip seemed to press uncomfortably within my body and I had to adjust my position a few times to find the best way to sit and which chair was more comfortable. I felt like Goldilocks as I ruled out each chair as too hard or too soft.
The sitting issues ruled out long term wear for me, but as I don’t usually wear a butt plug for extended periods of time, this shouldn’t be a problem for me. However, if you like to wear butt plugs for hours on end you may want to take the length of this product into consideration before buying.
In Conclusion
I have used this Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug on a few occasions since receiving it and I do enjoy the sensations the cool metal provides. My husband loves the twinkle of the gemstone when it is in place and the size is ideal as long as I am not sat at our dining table. I am slowly getting used to the weight while walking around but I will stick to wearing my thong, just in case.
All in all, I enjoyed using the Loving Joy Precious Metals Smooth Silver Anal Plug and will be keeping it handy for future use. I would rate this product 8 out of 10, losing points due to the fraying storage bag and the slight pain when sitting. I won’t deduct points for the slippage as that is probably due to my untrained muscles rather than the design of the toy… Must try harder!
