Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Leash Review

As we both enjoy BDSM, and a bit of pet play, I offered to review the Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Leash from Loving Joy for Cara Sutra’s Pleasure Panel. At the same time, we reviewed the matching Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather O-Ring Choker Collar.
As with the O-ring collar, the Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Leash came in a simple thick clear plastic packet. I would have preferred something more interesting, to suggest that this was a better quality product. When we opened this product, as with the collar, there was not a significant leather smell. The leash did have an attached real leather tag, with the brand label, but this was the only decoration that came with it.
When we picked up the leash, we were surprised by the feel. Where the O-ring collar felt poor quality due to the thickness of the leather, the leash felt comfortable, durable, and better quality. It may have been that the leash is a lot longer than the collar so the thickness was more suitable, but this seemed like a product that we could use. The handle felt good in my hand, with enough rigidity to really grip onto it, but with enough give so as not to dig into the skin.
The brass coloured rivets were a nice touch, holding the leash together, and adding some more class to it, but the rivets are a different colour to the clasp. For some reason, the rivets are brass, but the clasp is a yellowish gold colour. The clasp itself is rather pitted and cheap looking, which also compares badly to the rivets. The clasp is functional though, easy to use one handed.
We started trying to use the leash with the matching O-ring collar, but immediately found this to not be the best use of it. The clasp did not clip nicely onto the O-ring, with the chunky clasp digging into her neck. We liked the idea of a matching set, but it didn’t work as well as he had hoped.
Luckily we have a range of collars. We chose a collar which didn’t have it’s O-ring resting against her neck and found that the leash worked a lot better. I found that I could control her by pulling the leash, but without fear of damage to the leash. The thickness of the leather did make it a nice experience. She enjoyed the feeling of being controlled.
Comparing this Bound leash to our old one made it look even better. The old leash is thinner and shorter in all dimensions. We liked this new one a lot more. It hadn’t occurred to us to look for thicker leads, but it made the whole experience better.
Conclusion
We enjoyed using this leash. It would have been nice if they had paid a bit more attention to the detail, such as getting the clasp and rivets to match, but it worked well and was fun to use. We would definitely recommend this Loving Joy Bound Noir Nubuck Leather Leash, though not as a set with the O-ring collar.
