Lovehoney Showgirl Black Fishnet Quarter Cup Basque Set Review (Medium, UK 10-12)

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews you know I’m a sucker for fishnet and the Lovehoney Showgirl Black Fishnet Quarter Cup Basque Set is no exception. When offered this item to review I was super excited… and so too was the Duchess. The packaging was nothing special: a clear cellophane wrapper and a simple tag.

I would guess if you found this in a store it might be displayed on a hanger. It certainly looks better on a body then in a bag or on shelf or hanger. So I kindly asked the Duchess to give it a try.

Stretchy and sexy, this black and red corset fit perfectly and pleased double. The Lovehoney Showgirl Black Fishnet Quarter Cup Basque Set I received to review was a size M and for reference I’m 5’7” and normally wear a US size 6 to 8.
Sometimes corsets can be fussy and stiff (and sometimes that is exactly what you want), but this lovely little number is meant to zip right up. Unfortunately the zipper isn’t as eager as I was and on first try it separated. I was able to unzip and try again with no further problems.
After zipping the front you can adjust with the beautiful ribbon laced back. This corset lacks that pokey, firm boning of some more traditional corsets that restricts movement while still keeping its shape. The material and structure on the Lovehoney Showgirl Black Fishnet Quarter Cup Basque Set is both strong and sturdy yet feels smooth against the skin. Therefore, it is fun to wear or (and?) play in.
The included panties are soft and have beautiful lace detail. The tag on the panties in the back is a bit oversized, but easy enough to remove with a scissors. I felt sexy in this outfit.
The open breasts is a nice touch and the lace fits close to my breast providing a full shape and accentuating my nipple that peak nicely over the top. From the Duke’s reaction I think he approved!
While not included, this little number pairs nicely with a pair of thigh high stockings. It is smooth enough and comfortable enough to wear out under a cute dress and even flexible enough to wear under jeans and a top. I never got that far though… the Duke couldn’t resist. After play in fact, I — don’t tell anyone — washed the corset in the wash machine on hand wash cycle, no delicates bag. It washed up fantastically. I normally wouldn’t trust anything mesh in the wash machine, but this corset was up to the test! I look forward to wearing it again!
The absolute only drawback was that it doesn’t hold in my tummy as much as I’d like due to its stretchiness. Most corsets have more hold. However, the sheer comfort is worth that one small concession. A lovely, easy-care, comfy corset. Who could want anything more?
