Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator Review

I’m not normally one for the classic vibrator, but the bright colours, promise of a smooth soft surface, and reasonable proportions of the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator got me interested enough to want to give it a try. Would the classic vibe have matured in the years since I last bothered with one?
Packaging
The Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator comes packaged in full retail packaging consisting of a fairly matte black card (with stars!) surrounding a clear plastic shell holding the actual vibrator. This arrangement really is quite striking and certainly makes the colours of the vibrator ‘pop’ at you!

The rear of the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator box contains some general sales talk about the toy, and also lists three of its features:

- Splashproof
- 2x C Batteries
The last point is certainly one worthy of note; the vibrator is not supplied with any batteries and this size is perhaps not as common to have just “around the house” as say ‘AA’.
Not a negative about the vibrator, just make sure you order some batteries with your vibrator so as not to be disappointed when it arrives.
Also on the rear of the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator packaging are the details of the materials used; this indicates it is made from ABS plastic and does not contain latex or phthalates.
Unboxing
Unboxed the colours of the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator are just as vibrant. The colours almost seem pastel due to the soft satin sheen of the surface of the vibrator, but they manage to be vibrant at the same time!
Having unpacked the vibrator the packaging then also has a helpful instruction of how to load the batteries, the size to use, and the basic vibrator operation.
Initial Thoughts
My initial impression of the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator was very positive. The surface of the vibrator is gorgeously soft to the touch, and the writing is within the surface, not printed on as an afterthought, so even when you can’t see the beautiful colours anymore you’ll certainly be appreciating the smooth soft surface.
In terms of dimensions it measures 4.2 inches / 10.6 cm in circumference (1.3 inch / 3.3 cm diameter) and offers 6.5 inches / 16.25 cm of insertable length (8 inches / 20 cm long in total).
Once it is loaded up with two ‘C’ size batteries the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator has an impressive weight to it, and this helps with the overall feel of it both in the hand, and in use!
It is worth noting when fitting the batteries, or rather the battery end cap, it is ‘keyed’ as it is supposed to be fitted a particular way around, BUT it is possible to fit it the wrong way, in which case it will not work. Once I realised this was the issue it wasn’t a problem, but watch out for it when putting the cap on to avoid the “oh no, it doesn’t work” panic!
Lastly the speed control is the classic vibrator control of rotating a wheel on the base of the vibrator. This is a little stiff so you do have to use two hands to adjust it (one to hold the vibrator still whilst you use the other to turn the wheel), but this does at least mean that it won’t accidently change speed at the absolute wrong time!
How It Feels
The wheel based speed control on this gives a great linear adjustment all the way from fairly mild to some pretty powerful vibrations! This smooth adjustment is in contrast to the usual ‘steps’ of vibrators with speed control via buttons – to be honest I wouldn’t say I necessary prefer one over the other, but it is different.
The vibrations from the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator are certainly strongest at the business end, and then gradually lessen as you approach the speed control end. This, in my opinion, is great since it means that I can have all the vibration where I want it, without getting that numb-hand syndrome you can get with some vibrators.
I started by using the tip of vibrator externally, and I have to say it works extremely well as an external vibe! The smooth tip allows quite accurate stimulation, and the surface is so smooth you can also lay it against your body for yet another sensation.
After a while I decided to try it internally, and “WOW!”.
Considering this is ‘just’ a smooth surfaced, straight bodied vibrator I really didn’t expect it to do much for me internally, but was I wrong! Whether it is the shaping, or power of the vibrations, or the proportions of it I don’t know, and to be quite frank I did – not – care, it might be magic for all I know, but it felt very good!
Cleaning
Being splash proof and constructed of ABS plastic the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator is very easy to clean with a simple wipe over, I actually used a proprietary sex toy cleaner, which is something I would recommend irrelevant of the toy. Having a smooth surface also means that this is incredibly easy to clean, and despite being a silk-matte finish I didn’t find it grabbed dust or lint at all.
Summary
A very surprising vibrator; sold as an internal toy, but works really well externally as well.
Do not allow its ‘classic’ shape to fool you into thinking that it is a basic vibrator, it has so much more to give you than you would expect!
At the price asked for this range it really is a no-brainer whether you are new to sex toys, or a seasoned veteran, you need the Lovehoney Positive Vibes Good Vibes Only Classic Vibrator in your toy box!
