Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks Review

Specs
There are 9 pebbles in total, varying in size and weight, ranging from 24g up to 84g. Total weight of the 9 pebbles is 439g. Less than a 500ml bottle of water, so they can be taken away for a sensual massage on an overnight trip. The three larger pebbles in the Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks set have the Lovehoney heart etched into their surface on one side. Nice for advertising purposes, but does not add anything to the functionality of the pebbles. If anything, they just serve as a recess for massage oil or lotion to collect in. Which means you’ll either need nails to clean the recesses or a brush.
Preparation
That aside, the Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks feel lovely and smooth. Heating is really simple; just pop them in a pan of water and bring to the boil then drain the water and dry them off. Make sure they’re not too hot before applying them to the skin of your massage-receiver. To make heating up even easier (and quicker), I boiled my kettle with the water I needed to cover the rocks. I included a bit extra for a cuppa, of course!
During Use
The Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks were blitzed with the gas, until the water was boiling. After drying them off, I placed them in a small terracotta dish with a towel over, to retain the heat and then I actually left the dish to for about 45 minutes before using the rocks. They retained their heat really well, and when I went to use them I had a good 10 minutes of massaging my neck and shoulders. I did not have a partner with me to do the honours, though I have used them with my other half, a while ago. We both enjoyed the warming sensation and the gliding of the Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks over oily skin. Bliss, in a little drawstring bag.
Suggestions
My main gripe with the Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks though, is that 9 does not seem quite enough. I mean, if you are using them on a 6-foot-plus individual for a massage involving their neck, shoulders, back and the back of their legs, you need at least 12.
In addition, whilst the larger rocks are great, the smaller rocks could do with being a bit bigger. A couple of smaller rocks are nice for getting into areas like the collarbone and between shoulder blades. But I feel that the majority of the rocks would be better off being at least 3 inches across.
In Conclusion
All in all, the Lovehoney Oh! Hot Massage Rocks are a lovely little treat and would make an ideal extra present for your lover in addition to a more significant gift. They’re often in the 3 for £10 deal also, so they are reasonable value too.
