Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator Review
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator is one of several wand vibrators I’m reviewing at the moment, and one of the smaller ones at that. I’ve learned not to judge a sex toy by its size though; after all, bullet vibrators are one of my favourite types of pleasure product. Does the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator provide as much pleasure as any of the full-size wand vibrators?

Packaging
Starting at the beginning: the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator comes in a recognisable, Lovehoney-branded outer box. The glossy and well-presented packaging has an image of the toy, as well as a brief overview of the material, functions and manufacturing company.
Inside the box, the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator is set into a moulded plastic cradle, keeping it safe against knocks since manufacture and through storage/transit.
First Impressions
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator was smaller than I expected, but then I’m used to what I call full-size wand vibrators – like the Doxy Massager, or the Lovehoney Desire Wand>. I was fascinated by the operation area; it’s almost a clock face made up of the Lovehoney logo surrounded by light up dashes.
Underneath the ‘clock’ area, there are two buttons: on and off.
Size
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator measures 7.75 inches in overall length, and the handle is 5 inches of that.
Power
I looked in the box again: no charging lead. Ah, the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator is battery-operated. Well, I’ve had some good times with battery-operated toys, so we’ll see how it goes.
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator takes four AA batteries which fit into the slide-out cradle inside the handle area.
Operation
Once you’re all batteried up, and the end of the handle is replaced, it’s easy to switch the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator on and go through the various settings.
Pressing the ‘on’ button starts the vibrator off, and the first dash around the ‘clock’ lights up red. Keep pressing to light up more of those dashes, and access more of the settings.
There are three constant speeds at the start of the setting cycle, low, medium and fast. After those, there’s a variety of pulses and patterns. I’m not much of a pulse and pattern lady so I stick with the constant vibrations.
During Use
I’ve played with the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator several times now, and although it’s not my favourite vibrator by a long shot, I think it represents good value for money considering the price.
The top constant speed is enough to bring me to orgasm, although it does take quite a bit longer, and quite a bit more effort for me than when I use my ‘guaranteed O’ toys.
Another slight issue for me during play was the flexibility of the neck. Some people may prefer a very flexible head on their wand vibrators, but as I press them against my body I don’t actually like them to ‘give’ so much. I want it firm, not to shy away. I found myself holding the head of the vibrator against my clit in order to get the stimulation I wanted/needed, which then served to muffle the vibrations somewhat.
As I’ve mentioned, I don’t enjoy patterns and pulses when it comes to vibrating stimulation, so the three constant speeds are where it’s at for me. The vibrator is pretty noisy considering its size, but I don’t mind it too much. You can hear it for yourself in the short video clip below:

Clean-Up
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator has a silicone cover on the head which is easy to remove and clean. This is a relief, because although those grooves on the head don’t offer me much additional pleasure during use, they can gather grime so you need to be able to clean it extremely well.
Once dried, this head cover can be replaced. You can’t submerge the whole vibrator in water because although the packaging says it’s fully waterproof, the website has a caution that in fact, it’s only splashproof.
This was disappointing because I like my vibrators to be fully waterproof – but at least it’s not a fully insertable type of toy, and the part used intimately (and externally) can be removed and washed thoroughly.
Conclusion
The Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator would suit someone looking for a lower priced, quite powerful vibrator which is smaller and lighter than the full size wands such as Doxy Massager and the Lovehoney Desire Wand.
Things to note are that it’s battery-powered, doesn’t come with a storage bag -and that as a whole, it’s only splashproof, not fully submersible/waterproof. Also, the neck of the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator is very flexible, so if you prefer a rigid style of wand head then this may not be the best option for you.
All that said, the Lovehoney 8 Function Mini Magic Wand Vibrator is only £30 which is about the price of a budget rabbit vibrator. Whereas here you’re getting fairly powerful vibrations (more than a standard bullet vibrator but quite a way off a Doxy) which are easy to operate, on a versatile, external-use toy with a removable, washable head cover. Just make sure you’ve got some AA batteries spare!
