Packaging
The Je Joue colours and branding make the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator box seem very classy and extremely appealing. The simple but effective Je Joue logo is central on the box which has a deep fuchsia feather pattern and a velvet-cote finish. There’s some basic information about the product on the box and little card wrap-around.
Inside the box, which was sealed with plastic wrap for hygiene reassurance, there’s another lidded box, then inside that you find the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator. I absolutely love the simplicity of the design and components; you simply get the vibrator, the USB charging lead and small information leaflets.
There’s no storage pouch included, but you can keep your Je Joue Mimi Vibrator in one of the lidded boxes between uses. Mine simply lives in my bedside drawer.
First Impressions
Like the Uma, the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator is made with velvety soft silicone over the inner mechanisms. One end has the operation buttons on a chrome fascia, and I was a little concerned about how easy they’d be to find/press during use.
The Mimi is very pebble-like in both shape and weight – not quite as heavy, but you know it’s in your hand. The smoothly rounded oval design is extremely comfortable to hold in your hand and rather sensual too. I was hoping it would be powerful enough to bring me to orgasm during use, as so far I was loving absolutely everything. Pink isn’t my favourite colour for a sex toy – but even in that respect it’s more of a deep rose rather than the garish bright pink of (often) lower quality vibrators.
The Je Joue Mimi Vibrator measures 3.25 inches in length (from tip to base) with a diameter across the widest part of the front of 2 inches.
Power & Operation
Before using the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator I needed to charge it up. The charging process is identical to the Uma – as is the charging lead. One end plugs into any USB port while the other end magnetically attaches to the metal fascia on the end of the vibe (where the operation buttons are).
I was pleased to note that the magnetic connection was very strong; in fact in the upcoming video you’ll see I can even pick the vibrator up by the connected charging lead without it disconnecting.
There are three buttons on the end of the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator, plus, squiggle and minus. Plus to switch on and increase intensity of the vibration, minus to decrease intensity – all the way to off when necessary – and squiggle to change the vibration setting.
There’s a variety of pulse and pattern settings, oscillating, ascending – the usual options. The included instruction book says it has 6 pulsing settings but I counted 7 non-constant vibrating options, and there’s 5 intensities of constant vibration from a low rumble to the highest power output.
How It Feels
Although I’ve enjoyed testing the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator, I wish it were just a tiny bit more powerful on the top constant setting. But that’s my personal preference, and I’m a self-confessed Power Queen when it comes to my vibrators.
The Je Joue Mimi Vibrator is a brilliant warm-up vibrator for me, and I imagine for a lot of people out there it will deliver the style and power of vibration required – not even on the top level – to deliver intense orgasms.
I’m not one for patterns and pulses when it comes to vibrations, so I stick with the constant vibration instead. On the lowest setting, the Mimi gives a deliciously rumbly purr, which you can see the effects of both on the desk and in water in my little video clip below. As the intensity increases, the rumble lessens (as is usual; it’s something to do with torque) while the vibration frequency rises. It’s still a lot more rumbly on the top constant speed than a lot of other vibes this size, but not as rumbly as on the lowest constant.
For me, the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator delivers best when used as a clitoral stimulator, and with the addition of some water-based lubricant. Without the lube the silicone material feels too chafing and draggy over such a sensitive area of my body. The lubricant does seem to heighten the sensations from the vibrations, which are incredibly powerful on top level constant but which still take me longer to orgasm with than my Doxy Wand. It’s a different style of sex toy so the comparison isn’t really fair – and the Mimi is a quiet, discreet vibe unlike the Doxy – but if I’m looking to orgasm in less than a minute I know which one I’m heading for.
The Mimi has been brilliant for warming up with, and for masturbation sessions where I can really relax into it, teasing myself with the lower levels then raising the intensity before a full body orgasm after quite some time. We’ve also included the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator into our sex life recently, with my partner enjoying using it to tease my nipples then further down to press it against my clit and vulva, before passing it to me to stimulate myself with clitorally while we have sex.

For those looking for a rumbly, quiet, hand-held, discreet vibrator which is delicious to hold, use and orgasm with, the Je Joue Mimi Vibrator is a great choice. It’s rechargeable, and the charging is easy to arrange, with a recognisable lead. There are both constant and patterned vibrating options. The top level of vibration power is certainly more than adequate for me, and will be powerful enough – maybe even too powerful, you may have to turn it down a notch – for others.
The Je Joue Mimi Vibrator is also waterproof, so it can be played with in the bath or shower, as well as making clean-up hassle free. I’ve really enjoyed playing with my Je Joue Mimi Vibrator.
