According to the blurb, Diamonds in the Rough offers a tale of mystery and intrigue based on the history of old lovers and cousins Adela Ruffington and Wilson Ruffington.

When it comes to diamonds – and men – some women prefer them rough. Honourable Adela Ruffington earns money – and supports her mother and sister – selling erotic illustrations based on her intimate memory of an encounter in her youth. Then, unexpectedly, she meets Wilson Ruffington again – and their long-ago passion instantly reignites.

Wilson devises a ruse to avoid stirring scandal: a marriage of convenience that will provide Adela’s family with a generous settlement – and also keep her in his bed. Their plan works perfectly, until family rivalries and intrigue threaten to destroy their arrangement …and the unspoken love blooming beneath it.’

I was immediately piqued, Diamonds in the Rough sounded exactly what I needed. A plot that I could really sink my teeth into and I wasn’t disappointed. I don’t want to give too much of the story away but after spending 7 years apart the cousins meet again and embark upon a battle of sexual wills that take them dancing erotically on a dark and mysterious path.

However, the relationship between Adela and Wilson has been anything but normal and when incriminating letters disappear. Secrets that could shake the family to the core threaten their newfound happiness and Adela and Wilson must work together to put the ghosts of the past to rest before destroy everything they hold dear.

A beautifully written book which captivates the reader and draws them straight into the 18th century. Deliciously erotic and delightfully naughty, Diamonds in the Rough has the perfect blend of mystery and intrigue to keep the reader coming back for another piece of the story.

I really enjoyed it and found it to be a nice, easy and uncomplicated read.

Perfect for relaxing on the beach.
