EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil 50ml Review
By Pleasure Panel reviewer Louise Lace
Having discovered a delicious edible salted caramel massage oil in an earlier Pleasure Panel review, when I saw the feast of flavours of massage oil in a recent round of the panel, I couldn’t resist volunteering to test out one of the EXSENS Sensations Gourmet Massage Oils. I left it to Cara to choose a flavour for me to try (free of charge for review purposes) and she sent me the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil to test out.
The packaging for the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil is very feminine, with yellow flowers at the top and bottom of the box and yellow and pale blue type on the front. The packaging screams make up, cleanser, girlie products and in no way hints that this is a sexual/sensual product so I can leave this lying around the house without having to fib to my kids as to what it is and what it is used for. Regular readers of my reviews will know that I have had to come up with some very creative, alternative uses for sex toys and accessories that I have inadvertently left lying around the house after a play session.
The packaging informs me that the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil has “a warming effect specially created to bring new sensations and emotions into your intimate play.”
While the oil is edible the packaging informs me that it is not a food product, this means I will have to refrain from using it as an ice cream topper.
The heating elements of the oil “intensifies with mouth to skin contact.” I am usually a bit wary of warming products as I have found that some products heat, and heat, and heat and before I know it my nether regions are on fire and I am doing a funny crab shuffle style run to the bathroom, to dunk my lady parts into a bath of cool water. Here’s hoping this isn’t the case when it comes to the EXSENS oil.
The EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil has a very small ingredients list:
Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, Aroma (flavour) and Sodium Saccharin.
If you are known to suffer reactions from any of these ingredients, please do a small patch test before using to avoid any unnecessary discomfort.
The bottle itself mirrors the box and has the same yellow flowers on the bottle label. The bottle also lists the same information as the box so there’s no excuse for not knowing what the purpose of the product is or what the ingredients are.
The pump action nozzle dispenses the clear, runny liquid with just a few pumps; it is really runny though so be careful when pumping to avoid a tsunami of oil.
The first thing I noticed when pumping the oil was the smell. Like the cocktail, the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil is super fruity, the peach smell is quite over powering, with a slight undertone of orange.
Taste-wise, the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil is super sweet, has a slight tang and even without the usual vodka that is added to the cocktail, has a bit of an alcohol hint to it. In all honesty, I’m not too keen so won’t be stressing too much about not being able to drizzle it over my ice cream. Hubby wasn’t keen on the flavour either, the tang is just a bit too intense.
When using as a massage oil, the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil spreads well, it sits nicely on the skin for quite a while before sinking in to leave a nice glisten to the body. Hubby and I used this for body massages and feet rubs – he says my feet stink so was happy to mask the smell with the intense peachy scent of the Sex on the Beach oil, I disagree with his stinky feet comments, but wasn’t going to say no to a foot rub.
The oil does warm the skin and when a little saliva is added to it, the warming sensations can be felt. This isn’t an intense heat more of a mild increase in temperature, that said the more moisture added, the more it heats up.
Admittedly, this increasing heat had me a bit nervous so due to previous reactions to this type of product. We didn’t put any on our genital areas, but we did enjoy the sensual massage prior to engaging in other sexual activities.
I have no reason to believe the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil wouldn’t perform well and heat with mouth to skin contact when used on the genital areas, but as neither hubby nor I were keen on the overpowering peach taste and I really didn’t want to risk another crab shuffle run to the bathroom, we took care to keep the oil out of the panty/pants areas.
We did like the massage oil as a massage oil. I loved the glisten on my skin after a massage and my skin also felt very soft, we just were not too sure about the taste. As this is mainly a personal preference, I think it would be unfair to score the product based on taste alone, therefore we score the EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil a 8/10.
Positives being the plain packaging, the easy to use pump dispenser, the warming elements actually working when moisture was added and the peachy smell. The oil lost a few points due to the messiness of the runny oil and the overpowering peachy alcohol taste.
That said, EXSENS have a wide range of flavours available, including, pina colada, mint mojito and apricot, retailing at $20 per 50ml bottle, there is bound to be a flavour that appeals to most people.
Thank you to Cara and EXSENS for sending me a bottle of EXSENS Warming Sex On The Beach Flavour Gourmet Massage Oil to try out, while we may not be using it on our sexy parts, I will be sure to keep using it on my apparently stinky feet 😉
