My General Impressions
“Classic” says it all. If it wasn’t for the Vac-U-Lock feature I would swear this was a dildo from the mid 1980s rather than something you’d find in a modern toy collection.
The packaging of the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo is simple, a paperboard box with a clear plastic bag inside with an 8 inch dong rattling around inside. Nothing to get excited about yet!
Moving on, to the meat of the matter so to speak, the dildo itself is made from PVC. Not my favorite material; I prefer silicone. The hole in the base for the Vac-U-Lock is a little disconcerting as it relates to cleaning. It seems like water/lube/nastiness could get in there and be very difficult to clean out sufficiently. So far so good though.
The Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo gets a little hard to handle once it is lubed up and without a base or balls it frequently slips from my grasp. When it is attached to our Vac-U-Lock base ($10-$15 or so) it makes it much more manageable. Without attaching it to a base or harness I would not risk using it anally, but with it you can be much more adventurous.
The dong is described as realistic; the protruding veins feel good but seem a little exaggerated. I’d describe it as semi-realistic. The dimensions and shape are almost blunt ended with no taper at all. Once it is in it feels good/filling but it doesn’t have the “pop” sensation of a dildo with a more bulbous head.
Wife’s Impressions
Though my hubbie and I don’t usually use dildos together unless he’s getting pegged, the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo was a natural-feeling addition to vaginal, clit and anal play for me. With its basic, straight length, I wouldn’t come using the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo alone, but it is nevertheless fun with a comfortable girth and length.
The texture is soft, made of (hopefully) body-safe pvc, so it has a slightly squishy but not at all sticky feel. It is bendy yet holds its stiffness. I prefer a less realistic dong, so the pale color doesn’t bother me, though I’ve read other reviews where such paleness makes a product look like a “necro-dong.” I guess that’s just a matter of taste. So if you are looking for a more realistic color this isn’t the dildo for you.
There is what might be a flaw near the base of the dildo we received, which made it look a little cheap but it didn’t affect practical quality or use. The Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo is hollow, making room for a Vac-U-Lock base (not included), but it mounted easily on my strap-on harness.
It’s long enough to hold without a base, but the base makes it more versatile for play. It sticks well on the Vac-U-Lock mount, without it the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo was a little awkward. For me, it is just fun to hold and slap around as if I had my own cock. Other reviews have said that it is a little stinky, and it is, but it isn’t something that bothered me at all and should dissipate over time.
Classic is the right word for this product. There is nothing ground-breaking about the concept. It cleans well, but I would suggest storing it in the plastic bag after cleaning to avoid lint or dust collection.
Overall, I’d say the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo is nothing really special, but I like having it handy to fill a secondary orifice (mine or his). It’s a good toy, but it’s not a wow toy. Compared to other strap on dildos, it is much more malleable and bendy, so it feels less quality. But for the price it would be a great choice for a first dildo if you’re looking to try something new.
For a dildo, I’d rate the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock 8 Inch Classic Dildo a 6/10. The experience of reviewing sex toys for the first time, I’d rate a 10/10.
