Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

By BarginHunta

Mrs BarginHunta is not normally one for realistic looking vibrators, but when the opportunity came up to review the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit from Lovehoney, the thought of a quality silicone vibrator combined with the expected fun of creating the thing in the first place was too much to resist! So… how did it go?

Packaging

The Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit is quite unique, in that it arrives package in a plastic tube; but this tube is not just packaging, but rather a key part of the kit. It’s probably worth noting that at this point, since if your tube is damaged you probably shouldn’t bother going to the effort of unpacking it.

There is really no mistaking the product either, it is not what you’d call discreet! The front of the tube effectively consists of a full length image of a willy image with the product name proudly emblazoned along its length.

The rear of the tube gives some product information and clearly illustrates the FOUR simple steps that you’ll need to complete before you can have your very own silicone clone in your hands!

Unboxing

Unboxing the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit consists of pulling the end off of the tube (again, don’t damage the tube!), and then you can slide out all the contents:

Here you have:

  • Two pots of silicone
  • A small thermometer
  • A vibrator
  • A bag of moulding powder
  • A stirring stick

The label of the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit also unrolls to provide the full instructions for the kit:

The first thing you notice here is that the ‘four simple steps’ have suddenly turned into thirteen…

Initial Thoughts

When first considering the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit we had naively thought that this would be a fun, erotic activity for us to undertake, with the added bonus of having a clone at the end; having unrolled the full instructions the realisation started to dawn of just how complex this process actually is.

At this point READ THE INSTRUCTIONS, then READ THEM AGAIN, and just in case READ THEM ONE MORE TIME, when it comes down to it there is lots of doing and not much time for reading so it’s good to know ahead of time what will be involved.

You will also likely need additional supplies and items, and the process breaks down into a few distinct stages, with required time gaps between them, so check when you will be able to do each section.

Making Your Clone

Stage 1 – Making the Mould

This stage covers the first 8 steps of the instructions, but is in no way intended to be a replacement for the instructions, simply a record of our experience and review of the product – READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

First things first, gather all your supplies!

We would recommend a glass mixing bowl, a measuring jug, a metal spoon (or fork) and scissors, along with the tube, moulding powder and thermometer from the kit. A cock ring (and an assistant, both for help with the process and inspiration) is useful too!

The first stage begins with sizing the tube correctly; you need it to be approximately ½” longer than your chosen Willy. If you have a particularly curved Willy do follow the information in the instructions (or look on the clone-a-willy website) since the method of making the moulding tube is slightly different.

If your chosen manhood is relatively straight, then the sizing is most easily done by pushing the tube against the groin alongside your erection and marking where it comes to, and then adding ½” – don’t try measuring your erection then measuring the tube, you’ll likely get it wrong! – Also, make sure you cut the OPEN end of the tube off, NOT the closed end!

All being well you now have a nicely cut tube, hopefully with a smooth end (since you’ll be holding this tight to your body eventually).
If the cut end isn’t smooth you can even the edge out by covering the cut with some tape.

Now comes the tricky part, and where you’ll really want some assistance, or Viagra, and/or a cock ring, perhaps even all of the above!
We would also recommend that you stand in an empty bath to do this – you WILL get messy and the moulding gel (once set) easily peels off of a hard surface such as a bath, but we suspect would be a lot more difficult on carpet.

You must now accurately measure 1 ¾ cups of 90°F water (whilst maintaining that erection of course!).
For those not familiar with the US style measurements given in the instructions that relates to 414 millilitre (ml) at 32.2°C (this one is slightly easier since the thermometer is quite obviously marked for both scales) – as for maintaining the erection, that’s down to you, your assistant if you have one, and your cock ring.

You now mix the powder and the water together for 45 seconds, before carefully (but quickly) pouring the mixture into the tube, and poking your erection into it (you do still have an erection right…?).

From the start of mixing to being properly inserted into the tube the instruction indicate you have a grand total of 2 minutes, so don’t be slow!

At the moment of insertion the thick gloopy moulding gel will start to be pushed out of the tube, displaced by your erection, and likely run down your legs, fall over your feet, and into a puddle in the bath.

At 32.2°C it is also quite a bit cooler than body temperature, so is not exactly the best feeling in the world, and don’t forget – don’t lose that erection!

Once in place (and not touching the sides) you must keep the tube in place (and keep that erection!) for at least a further two minutes to allow the mould to start to set.

Do NOT be tempted to move the tube, or try to re-position once the first 10-20 seconds have passed as the mould will already have started to solidify and you’ll mess it up.

When time is up you can slowly ease yourself out of the mould (carefully, don’t allow the mould to come out of the tube), and you can finally relax about keeping that erection.

Clean up shouldn’t be too difficult, if you used a glass bowl, metal stirring implement of some kind, and did the whole process over a hard surface (or in the bath), since once the mould comes off all the spilt gel will also be solidified enough to peel off. Of course if you didn’t follow these guidelines, then good luck!

I will freely admit, I was fairly concerned throughout the process that I wasn’t going to be able to maintain a decent erection long enough to make the mould. There is NOTHING sexy or intimate about this process, even with the aid of a cock ring AND an assistant I felt at times that I was on the verge of losing it. However, I am pleased to say that we did end up with a pretty good looking mould (as much as you can tell from the outside of the tube).

The mould must then be allowed to sit for 4-8 hours to properly set and give the best detail to your final clone. We decide that overnight should be ok and popped it in the airing cupboard to set.

Unfortunately life had other ideas…

We were not able to carry on with the process the next day at all, and then when we were eventually able to return to our mould, we were met by this rather sorry looking thing…

The mould had dried out and shrunk, and yes, even started to develop mould on the mould – I had a mouldy willy mould!

This was a disaster! There was no way we wanted to continue with the process and pour the silicone into that and we could hardly end the review at this point.

Lovehoney to the rescue!

Lovehoney very kindly sent us a Clone-a-Willy Refill Pack so that we could continue with the review!

Stage 1 – Making the Mould (Take 2)

These refill packs are available to purchase from Lovehoney as part of the Clone-a-Willy range should you wish to clone yourself more than once (or clone more than one willy!).

Again, no packaging is wasted, and the box unfolds to provide the instructions (steps 4 to 7 of the kit), whilst the contents are simply another bag of the moulding powder:

All ready to go again, we waited for an opportune time when we wouldn’t be disturbed, and we’d have time to continue the process after the mould had set.

Gather everything together again, get that pesky erection back (and convince it to stay around!) measure the temperature of the water, measure the amount of water, add the powder, start a timer, start mixing it, and when the time is up pour it into the tube and…

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

ARSE!
There was no way that we were going to get a usable mould out of this! The moulding gel had started to solidify in the bowl and ended up going into the tube in lumps. Within seconds of the end of the mixing time the gel had set completely and the whole thing was an epic fail.

At this point we really did feel like this might be the point to stop – do we just write the review to here, deem the kit too fussy about timings, temperatures, and everything else?

After some time to contemplate we decided to give it one more try, so I bought another box of the moulding powder for our final attempt…

Stage 1 – Making the Mould (Take 3)

No surprises here, the refill pack is exactly the same as the last one we had used!

Before going through the process again I made sure to read all the instructions AGAIN to see where we could have gone wrong, and then I spotted it!

When we made the first (successful) mould my wife had used the instructions from the Clone-a-Willy kit, and set the timer for the mixing accordingly to 45 seconds:

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

However, when we had used the refill pack I had used those instructions and set the timer according to those:

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

It is only a slight difference, but the kit instructions say to mix for “45 seconds” whereas the refill instructions say “no longer than 60 seconds”.
The gel does tend to set fairly rapidly and those 15 seconds of difference could very well have made the difference.

Now feeling more confident about the process, and suspecting we knew what had gone wrong the second time around we set about making the mould… again…

This time we got a good mould and left it to set for approximately 6 hours…

Stage 2 – Making the Clone

First step, carefully take the mould from where we had left it (not the airing cupboard this time for fear of it drying out too much again!) and checking it over:

Overall we were quite happy with how this turned out (finally!). We did have some slight concerns about the slight gap in the mould (that can be seen in the second picture), which was caused where the ridge of my penis had slightly come into contact with the side of the tube when making the mould, but as the gel appeared to be in good contact with the side of the tube at this point we hoped that no silicone would escape.

Now you need more supplies!

A disposable mixing pot of some kind (adequate to mix the silicone in) – we used a plastic tub; a square of cardboard, and the stirring stick, silicone pots, and vibrator from the kit.

As per the instructions you want to put the vibrator through the centre of the card so that only the screwcap end protrudes. I found the easiest way to do this was to cut a cross into the centre of the card, remove the screwcap from the vibrator, push the screw section of the vibrator through the card, and screw the cap back on. This ensures it is held firmly and in the correct position.

You then mix the two pots of silicone together thoroughly, trying to avoid whipping too much air into the silicone, and then pour it slowly into your mould (you are trying to minimise the amount of air that gets into the silicone).

We would recommend having the mould-tube stood in a disposable container of some kind before pouring the silicone in; any spilt or overflowed silicone will not be fun to clean up!

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

We did notice at this point that despite thoroughly scraping out both silicone pots AND the pot that we mixed it in the silicone mixture didn’t appear to come very far up the mould, but perhaps it would expand as it set, and of course the vibrator would displace some of it too.

We then carefully placed the vibrator centrally into the mould, and put the whole thing somewhere safe to set for 24 hours…

Stage 3 – The Grand Unveiling

Finally we’d made it, we’d reached the end of the process, but what had we made? It was time to find out!

Firstly we removed the cardboard:

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

You can see here again that the mould has started to shrink, probably due to drying out. This really does give an idea of just how soon after creating the mould you need to pour your silicone.
Of course this time that didn’t matter for us since we’d been able to pour on time – we were however a little concerned to see that the silicone still seemed to be further down the mould than expected.

The moulding gel and the clone slid from the tube relatively easily, and remained together. The moulding gel is then easily broken away from the silicone clone…

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

Well, we have a clone of sorts, but our concerns were correct, there simply wasn’t enough silicone…

The Clone

The clone itself is actually quite remarkably detailed.

I honestly hadn’t expect the goopy moulding gel to be able to produce such a detailed mould, so that was a pleasant surprise to us both; the various veins, ridges, and contours can easily be seen:

In fact it is only because of the level of detail in the finished product that you can even tell where there was the slight gap in the mould. It perhaps does not show too well in the photos, but there is a smooth, untextured section of the ridge in the rectangular red box:

One concern would be that it does seem to have quite a few very small air bubbles in it, and associated pores on the surface – we were very careful with both the mixing of the silicone and the pouring so are not sure how we could have avoided this, but they are visible to the naked eye, and it raises questions as to whether this would actually end up being porous?

Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit Review

How does it feel?

In terms of texture the definition is very good, and the silicone actually feels to be just the right firmness too when held in the hand.
We don’t have any other silicone vibrators to compare it to, but this is neither too hard nor too soft. If you squeeze it in your hand there is some give to it, so it feels just right – it’s the Goldilocks of Clone-a-Willys!

What about the vibrator side of things? Well, our outcome here might be a bit skewed by the fact that half the vibrator was hanging out of the end of the clone, but it really doesn’t seem to do anything other than create a buzzing noise. This is not totally unexpected, since what you effective have is a relatively low powered basic vibrator that has then been covered in a thick layer of silicone that does a remarkably good job of absorbing the vibrations. In our opinion, it’s really not worth opting for the vibrating option with this clone kit.

So the real test, how does it feel in use? – We first warmed it in a bowl of water (since most penises are not cold to the touch!), and then Mrs BarginHunta put it to use…
Unfortunately she was not impressed!

As great as the definition of the ridges and veins are for a clone, in use these were too firm and not forgiving enough, making the whole experience somewhat uncomfortable. Also the clone seemed to lose its initial warmth very quickly.

Cleaning

Cleaning is straight forward with it being silicone, a simple wash with some toy cleaner is all it needs. As mentioned previously though the air-bubbles and associated pores in the surface of the silicone may be a concern to some.

Rating

We found the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit actually very difficult to rate, since at times it was infuriating, and at others it pleasantly surprised us, so we have broken our rating into the following categories:

Sexiness: 0/10

This is NOT a sexy or particularly intimate process, arguments about timings, temperatures, mixing techniques etc. should be expected!
Do NOT buy it if you are expecting some kind of fun evening together; ONLY bother to get this if your only goal is to get a clone out of it!

Ease of use: 4/10

It’s not massively difficult to do, it’s just that it is so easy for it to go wrong, even if you believe you’ve done everything correctly.

Clone Accuracy: 10/10

The clone itself is great, really nicely detailed, and almost creepily realistic, (we’re talking disembodied penis here!)

In Use:  2/10

The vibrations are weak (largely pointless!) and although the definition of the clone itself is great, it is too firm and not forgiving enough to suit Mrs BarginHunta.

Summary

Overall the Clone-a-Willy Vibrator Create Your Own Penis Moulding Kit does what it says on the tin (tube), it is a great kit for creating a clone of your chosen willy, and yes it does have a vibrator in it.

However I generally class myself as average (although Mrs BarginHunta is trying to persuade me otherwise!), and the kit simply did not work overly well for cloning me.

Personally I found it very difficult during the moulding process to not touch the sides of the tube, so a wider tube would have been useful, although this may then have required additional moulding powder in order to fill it. Saying that though we did seem to end up wasting quite a lot of the moulding gel with what was displaced when I pushed myself into the tube.

Equally it is obvious that there simply was not enough silicone in the kit for my clone. I would estimate that we could have done with at least half of the amount again, and more than that if the vibrator hadn’t been used. Perhaps an offering of a larger kit, with more gel and silicone would be a worthwhile product offering for longer and /or girthier men. Failing that, perhaps some guidance as to the penis size(s) that the kit is suitable for. For reference we ended up with a clone that was 6” circumference (1.9” diameter), and 5.25” long – for those in metric that’s 15cm circumference (4.8cm diameter) and 13cm long.
