Who doesn’t love the look of a collar tightly on a neck of a submissive, a sexy leather one at that? I was very happy to review the Bound Noir Nubuck Leather O-Ring Choker Collar from Loving Joy for Cara Sutra’s Pleasure Panel.
The collar came in a thin protective plastic cover which was packed flat with a lovely little label stating it’s from the Bound Noir range, and with a shield cutout of the leather stating that it’s made from real leather.
The label is small and understated, saying the basic of information in a font which is easily readable. The branding of ‘Bound Noir’ is beautifully done with curvy gold writing which exudes class and sophistication. The label also states that the fixings are brass and made with ‘luxurious black Nubuck leather’. For those whom are unsure what Nubuck leather is, its a strong cowhide which is generally buffed and softened to give a softer velvet-like surface. It is resistant to wear and can be coloured. For those with sensitive skin the brass shouldn’t touch the skin as the only uncovered brass areas are the ring at the front and buckle.
The Choker Collar looks a lovely size, a nice thickness and adjustable circumference of 34-54cm / 13.5-21.6 inches with 6 holes to choose from to create a secure fit. I found the height of it fits almost like a posture collar but without the straining as it fits so snugly along the neck and chin line with enough maneuverability to not feel too constricting.
This Choker Collar is lightly padded on the inside and is extremely smooth, nothing rubs or is slightly uncomfortable with the collar. The stitching is thick around the collar and looks sturdy enough to last. The backing covers where the brass fixing is so there is no cold metal touching the skin, this creates more comfort for a longer wear. The brass buckle at the back can be locked on with a suitcase padlock or small padlock, the brass O ring is a nice strong one and fixed so well, it can be leashed or tugged and didn’t move out of place.
The leather itself is soft and pliable, so smooth against the skin when worn against the neck. It feels almost swede like in texture on the outside but yet easily cleanable with a wipe, if any liquids are split. With more use I would treat the leather with a wax to rub in but nothing too heavy.
I used this Choker Collar a few times to test it on a few sizes of necks and with different scenes, it worked well with each person and in a few different scenes, there was only one person who had an issue, and that person struggles with most collars due to their very short neck and doing pet play while drinking from a bowl was hard as was too constricting, I think this is the small exception, it will fit and be fine for most scenes.
Over all I loved the quality of the Bound Noir Nubuck Leather O-Ring Choker Collar and for its price of £34.95 I would highly recommend it!
