So, my review of the Bondara Wrist To Thigh Bondage Restraints. The use of Velcro in a bondage kit always has me caught in 2 minds.
Firstly, it’s Velcro, that’s not very kinky is it? Secondly, It’s Velcro, that’s means it’s going to be affordable! So, we have a tame cheap product. Then, when I take it out the packet, and tear open the Velcro, I’m reminded of something that I was told as a boy. I have no idea of its truth, but it seems plausible. That nugget of information is that Velcro is stronger than any stitch and any glue. That in a pure test of pull, Velcro will hang on longer than the stitches stitching the Velcro to the material.
So maybe it’s not so tame after all. The proof of the pudding is in the eating though.
The cuffs are around 12 inches long for the wrist, and around 24 inches long for the thigh, they are entirely covered in Velcro, meaning any size wrist up to 12-inch circumference, and any size thigh up to 24-inch circumference are catered for. Now, I have some pretty meaty thighs, and they fitted me just fine. Add to this the fact that the cuffs are padded with what is actually quite a comfortable material and these cuffs are pretty much designed for any and every one.
So, a simple a way of connecting wrist to thigh. Yes, but so much more too. If you carefully choose where to fasten on the thigh, then you can be quite inventive with how to restrain the wrist. We found that it is best to have the thigh restraint just above the knee, as the tendency is to pull up, and as my thigh gets thicker as you move away from the knee, my body shape effectively tightens the restraints as I pull up. Similarly, if you position too high, then by pulling down, I can loosen the restraint. Depending upon how comfortable you want the restrained to be, you can always think about inversing the arms before cuffing (so elbows up and out), or even taking the arms laterally and restraining more to the rear of the thigh, both of these are insanely uncomfortable and I was unable to withstand the positions for any length of time.
It’s worth noting that these Bondara Wrist To Thigh Bondage Restraints don’t inhibit mobility a great deal; they do enforce a stooped posture, and make balance and agility tricky; so we found starting in a kneeling position was better, since standing up then became more difficult, and, well that’s more submissive anyway.
I obviously had to test out the theory about the strength of Velcro, and well, it withstood any amount of force I was able to apply to it, without even budging a little. We also found them useful to cuff thigh to calf, thus enforcing a knelt position.
So, tame they may well appear, but true kink is in the mind. Even the most mundane of objects is a kinksters plaything; so go forth and experiment, and know that these cuffs from Bondara will not let you down.
