By Cara Sutra: Our trip to Erofame Germany 2015 (the European adult industry trade show; find the official website here) was more fun and eventful than ever before. It was also the first trip out of the country for my partner Darren & I together (aw) so we had double cause for celebration. I’m really pleased that Darren (find his website at Sablecraft) was able to come with me on this occasion, not only because I miss him so much when I’m away but also because he’s quite renowned by this stage as being a fantastic IT consultant and web dev for the industry.
Time for a bit of bondage - as you do in the office on Friday afternoons (don't you? Just me then) - and resident photographer Loryn was roped in as our *ahem* willing and enthusiastic volunteer. Mistress Victoria and I really enjoyed tying him up in a Shibari rope harness while plenty of photographs were taken. Taking advantage of his predicament I brandished and wielded the whip yet again. I'm going to get a reputation at this rate.
Sexhibition 2015 was a memorable experience, for various reasons. The erotic event of the year took place at Event City Manchester, which is right by the Trafford Centre, and promised to bring together adult industry exhibitors, porn stars and other adult entertainers in one glamorous, spectacular event.
During the weekend, some amazing people were promoting electro sex toys, with none other than Linsey Dawn McKenzie stopping by for an ElectraStim demo. The fantastic Anna Quinn and Ruby Derriere were running rampant with an ElectraStim paddle and pinwheel while the breath-taking Goddess Sophia picked up an electro strap-on and spanking paddle for use in her dungeon, which she was trying out on TV Goth Natalie on some of the bondage furniture.
Something big is happening this October and I’m going to be there! It’s time for Erofame in Hanover Germany, and it’s one of the biggest adult industry trade shows in Europe.
Our driver drove my partner Sable and I down to the hotel early Thursday evening. Our hotel, The Mercure, is a beautiful Victorian property overlooking the sea. We had an upgraded, seaview room and once we arrived we settled in immediately. It was late after the long drive from Lincolnshire to the south coast so after a much-needed shared bottle of wine from room service we slept soundly.
It's over a week since I returned from the annual ETO Show at Birmingham's NEC and I don't think I've come back to earth just yet. As usual, the ETO Magazine team put on a spectacular adult industry trade show, with a gala dinner and awards presentation in the middle of the two days to celebrate the best in the biz.
By Hella Rude Working in the adult retail sector is super-happy fun times and most people working in the industry have full-time contracts or their own company, so as a freelancer you feel somewhat disconnected from everyone. It's therefore unusual to form a bond with anyone who isn't your client. You know and like lots of folk, but there's never any real time to forge friendships.
Fellow industry writer & consultant Mel MacFarlane (of Voluptasse) and I are running BlogSpot – the new version of Blogger’s Corner. Come and meet us and pick up some tasty goodies! We’re on stand A36 and here’s a smattering of what you can expect.
The past year has disappeared in a haze of sex & sex toys, and it’s almost time for one of the biggest events of the adult industry year – the ETO Show & Awards. This year is the 11th year of the ETO Show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham UK. You can find the exact location on the Google map at the end of this post. The ETO Show is happening on the 28th and 29th June. The doors open at 10.30am each day and close 5pm Sunday, 4.30pm Monday. if you'd like to attend, you'll need to be a part of the adult industry in some way and you can register for an entry pass here. Even with an entry badge you will need to bring proof of trade status with you, such as your business card. Follow ETO Magazine & ETO Show on Twitter, and like Erotic Trade Only on Facebook to stay up to date with all the news.
Erotic World Book Day was 5 March and as part of the celebrations there was an unashamedly spectacular party on Facebook. From 7pm UK time until well past midnight, every hour saw a new host share a wealth of tasty entertainment for the party attendees to enjoy. Were you in attendance? Were you one of the 325 people who came to our party? You really should have been there. With shared excerpts from some of the top names in the world of erotic fiction, cyber cocktails, sexy chat, best-dressed competitions and over £1,500 of prizes to win, this really was an unmissable adult event. Erotic World Book Day originator Emily Dubberley declared the party officially open at 7pm with an overview of the night’s festivities and the charity fundraising reasons behind the celebrations. We hoped to raise a substantial amount for sexual health and well-being charity Brook. As well as regular calls through the night for party folk to donate generously, either through the website link or text, there would be the official launch of our Erotic World Book Day charity anthology, An Intimate Education. 100% of the profit from sales of this erotic e-book would be (and still is being) donated to Brook.

Bringing together erotica, fetish, catwalk shows, and five star gourmet dining with a seductive burlesque twist, Sexhibition will be a daring and sexy day out for those wanting to take a walk on the wild side.. We've also got a sneak peak at the Sexhibition cinema trailer, which is being screened before the showing of Fifty Shades Of Grey this coming weekend. Event organiser, Cheryl Smith explains, "The event of the Fifty Shades phenomenon is doing great things for British attitudes towards sex and sexuality. Whatever your opinion of the FSOG books and film, it's got us all - especially women - talking about our fantasies and that's got to be a good thing!"
Sexpo is the largest ever sexual health and lifestyle exhibition and this year, for the first time ever, it’s coming to the UK. Sexpo UK will take place at the London Olympia on 13-15th November 2015 and will house an exciting and colourful array of all aspects of sexual lifestyle under one roof. There will also be a vast shopping area here visitors can buy popular and the latest sex toys, lingerie, bondage gear and more from adult retailers. There will also be erotic book sellers and the ability to meet your favourite erotica authors. The organisers promise a colourful visual feast of eye-catching and breath-taking live entertainment, mesmerising performances and sensational catwalk shows. You will be spoilt for choice. If you’re an adult film fan, you can meet your favourite porn stars and glamour models face to face for an autograph and a photo. You can even buy R-18 adult entertainment in this fully licensed environment.
Erotic World Book Day Led by powerhouse columnist and erotic author Emily Dubberley of Cliterati, the world of erotic authors have united to create Erotic World Book Day. It is also being held on March 5th and it’s a cause that I fully support and hope you will be involved with too. The main locations for Erotic World Book Day discussion right now are on Facebook (group and page) and you can also find out more through Cliterati’s twitter. Another great source of erotica information and news are the Smut UK team, also on Facebook and Twitter.
The weekend of the La Boudoir Boutique Boiler Room opening finally rolled around and excitement was at an all time high. I have no idea where this year’s gone, but after moving the opening date from September to November I thought it would feel like ages before the day was upon us.
Offering a new take on the traditional dungeon or the arguably overdone 'Red Room of Pain', The Boiler Room promises to not only revolutionise your sex life but also your flavour of kink. Filled with BDSM accessories and more hardcore bondage sex toys than you’ll find in the mainstream, The Boiler Room is a play setting as well as part of the main shop. Instead of merely offering a location to purchase products though, it will also form a beautiful place and set the appropriate atmosphere for many workshops and demonstrations of a BDSM tone.
If you haven't heard who won what in the ETO Awards 2014, here's a handy list for you. You can read the mini release on the ETO Magazine website here, and a full report will be going out to subscribers in the July 2014 edition of this popular adult industry magazine.
Oh, did I feel smug on Monday morning. No, not the award - which I was still in shock about - but the lack of hangover! With a smiley face and a clear head I reflected on this day a year before, when I had been so ill from the afterparty that I hadn’t been able to get up from bed until checkout time. In fact if I’d had my way I wouldn’t have left the bed for about 4 days, that’s how ruined I was. I’d sworn not to do that again, and despite worrying that a hangover was somehow inevitable with the ETO Show Awards, I’d avoided the usual after party punishment.
