Cara Sutra and Alex Jordaine Talk FemDom

Top Quality FemDom Erotic Fiction

As most of you know I have a personal interest in all things FemDom. As a dominatrix and Mistress on the fetish scene it was genuinely thrilling some years ago to find an author who wrote first-rate erotic fiction around the power dynamic of female domination.

I initially discovered Alex Jordaine’s FemDom erotic fiction when I read ‘Mistress of Torment’, the very first of his highly acclaimed ‘Mistress’ series of books. I thoroughly enjoyed it -and he remains one of my favourite writers a dozen such novels later.

In all of his entertaining, fast-paced and highly erotic books sexy powerful women are very firmly in charge. They control the pleasure and men are there to serve and obey them. If you have any interest in FemDom and the female domination aspect of BDSM, you will love Alex Jordaine’s ‘Mistress’ series.

I’ve interviewed Alex a couple of times in the past, once in 2013 and again in 2016, and he’s always had something interesting to say. I thought it was high time I caught up with him again.

Cara: FemDom BDSM continues to be viewed as extremely niche in the media. That of course also means erotica devoted to it is seen as equally niche. Is that an issue for you as an author?

Alex: Strange though it may seem, no it isn’t. What it’s done is to enable me to carve out a distinctive place for myself in a niche area of the incredibly competitive erotica market.

Alex: I read your piece when you first brought it out and found it excellent, really thought provoking and engaging.

My own stance on the issue is very simple. Females and males come into this world equal as infants. BDSM is a minority interest for adults and always will be. It covers a lot of things but in essence involves a power exchange between two people. On the face of it you’d think there’d be roughly the same number of FemDom couples on the BDSM scene as there are MaleDom ones.

As you point out, women weren’t even allowed to vote until a hundred years ago, which represents only the blinking of an eye in historical terms.

Your article finishes – more in sorrow than in anger, I thought when I read it – by suggesting perhaps the world simply isn’t ready to fully accept FemDom yet. I think that is right, which makes people like you, me and the love of my life Mistress G very ahead of our time. And that isn’t a bad thing to be, when all’s said and done.

Cara: Mistress G and you have been serious players on the Fetish scene for a long time, haven’t you. What lessons have you taken away from that on the subject we’re discussing?

Cara Sutra and Alex Jordaine Talk FemDomAlex: We have always gone to well-run clubs and can honestly say we’ve never been treated as outsiders in the slightest at any of them, quite the reverse. This speaks very well of the Fetish community. Also over the years, while MaleDom has continued to predominate at the clubs we’ve attended, we’ve also seen a steady and growing increase in the number of FemDom couples attending. This can be nothing but good.

Finally it seems to us from personal observation and involvement that many of the young people coming onto the scene nowadays are very relaxed about it all and open to a whole range of new experiences, which very much includes FemDom.

Cara: That’s a nice positive note on which to conclude our interview, Alex. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with me on a subject dear to both our hearts. It’s been a real pleasure catching up with you

Alex: The feeling’s mutual, Cara.
