This week I’m welcoming a new sex blogger into the spotlight, Isabelle Lauren. Isabelle writes matter-of-factly about sex and her sex life, as well as sexy stories for her readers to enjoy.
You can also enjoy Isabelle’s adult product and sex toy reviews at Cara Sutra, as she is a valued member of the Pleasure Panel – known here as RomanticIsa.
Over to you, Isabelle!

I am Isabelle. I have lived in a few countries, but am settled in the UK for now. I work in an office by day, but my hobby has always been writing, so when I started to get a bit more serious about writing I decided to start a blog as well. At first I shared writing advice and short stories, but soon I widened my horizons and decided I wanted to talk about sex in the broader sense.
Since sorting out some health issues (endometriosis and adenomyosis) last year, my libido came back in force. Suddenly a whole new world opened up. I had never been interested in sex toys, but hubby bought me the Ann Summers Remote Control Vibrating Love Egg and my interest in sex toys was awakened. I had a strong desire to tell everyone how great sex can (and should) be, so I try sharing this on my blog through real life anecdotes and sex toy reviews.
I hope to eventually become a successful writer and blogger so I can give up my day job.
Q&A with Isabelle Lauren
What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?
My blog name, isabellelauren.com is fairly uninspired, but it’s my writer name and when I started my blog it was more with a view to promote Isabelle Lauren, the writer, rather than creating a sex blog.
What country do you live in?
I currently live in the UK.
Approximately how long have you been sex blogging?
I have only been sex blogging for about six months.
Why did you start a sex blog or reviewing sex toys?
With my increased libido I realised how repressed I actually am. I started my blog to give expression to my sexuality and create a positive, safe place for my own sexual expression. I love talking about sex and this is a great outlet.
What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
I love writing about sex and writing erotic stories, which is far more fun when you can share it with people rather than writing in a vaccuum. Writing helps me overcome my repression and work out some of my sexual feelings and desires, which is how I finally admitted to myself, or discovered, that I am bisexual.
Do you use social media? If so, where can we find you?
I only use Twitter, where you can find me with the handle @RomanticIsa.
Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?
Only my husband and one of my friends know that I am a sex blogger. Most of my friends (and my family) would not approve. Or maybe I am not giving them enough credit, I am too scared to find out at this point.
Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?
Sort of. I have always wanted to try bondage and the added incentive of being able to blog about it afterwards gave me the push to really give it a try.
Do you take part in any blog memes? If so, which ones?
At the moment I am taking part in Vikki’s Summer 100 Sex Blogger Challenge where you post 100 blogs in the summer and link to other sex bloggers. (prettypinklotusbud.org).
Share with us a funny or interesting experience that’s happened to you in the course of your blogging.
Maybe not particularly funny, but I bought a glass dildo so I could have something to test and review for the blog and it ended up being one of my husband’s favourite toys to use on me. He is really embracing the use of sex toys in our sex life which would not have happened without my blog.
Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?
I would hope so! It is my dream to be a full time writer/blogger by then so I can ditch the day job.
If not already a professional blog: would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?
I would love to make a living from both writing and selling novels and blogging. I couldn’t blog enough to make a writing just from blogging, I don’t think.
Tell us about three other bloggers you admire, and why.
1. The above mentioned Vikki (prettypinklotusbud.com) because she is very honest about her sexuality, and she is bisexual.
2. Nell from woman-on-top.co.uk always has very interesting, feminist positive posts on her blog.
3. Taryn from aceinthehole.co has a cool mix of educational posts, personal stories and sex toy reviews.
If you review sex toys, what are the top three toys you wish you could get your hands on next?
1. The Doxy Extra Powerful Massage Wand Vibrator as I love strong vibes and this one seems one of the best out there.
2. The We-Vibe Sync Remote & App Control Couple’s Vibrator.
3. Ann Summers‘ Rampant Rabbit Vibrator – The Moregasm Move Rechargeable One.
Who is your favourite adult shopping company, and why?
I don’t really know that many as I am fairly new to sex toys, so based on my limited experience I would say Ann Summers because I love my local shop where they are always super helpful and knowledgeable and Lovehoney.co.uk because of their reasonable prices.
Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?
I like doing a mixture of all three, though I don’t feel experienced enough to blog any advice guides.
