Alex Jordaine & New FemDom Erotica Book, Addicted To The Mistress

As most of you know I have a personal interest in all things Femdom. As a dominatrix and Mistress on the fetish scene it was genuinely thrilling some years ago to find an author who wrote first-rate erotic fiction around the power dynamic of Female domination.

I initially discovered Alex Jordaine’s fiction when I read the very first of his highly acclaimed ‘Mistress’ series of books, ‘Mistress of Torment’. I thoroughly enjoyed it and he remains one of my favourite writers.

In all of his books sexy powerful women are firmly in charge. They control the pleasure and men are there to serve and obey them. If you have any interest in Femdom and the female domination aspect of BDSM, you will love Alex Jordaine’s ‘Mistress’ series.

I last interviewed Alex three years ago when ‘Mistress Severity’, the sixth book in the series, had just come out. Since then there have been three more ‘Mistress’ novels – ‘Bound to the Mistress’, Mistress Absolute’ and ‘Addicted to the Mistress’. During that time there’s also been an Alex Jordaine story in every issue of the iconic glossy fetish magazines, ‘Marquis’ and ‘Secret’. All in all I thought it was high time that I caught up with him again

Cara: It’s obviously been a busy time for you since our last interview. How do you manage such a prodigious output?

Alex: When you love writing as much as I do it doesn’t feel like work. I feel privileged to be doing what I do. I know my novels and stories give real pleasure to readers who are into Femdom BDSM. I love it when my work connects with them in this way and that is a strong motivator to me as a writer.

Cara: You are always at pains to emphasise that each of the novels in the ‘Mistress’ series stands alone, with an entirely different cast of characters etc, so they can be read in any order. But are there any common themes that run through all the novels?

Alex: Three spring to mind. First, although the novels are full of BDSM, they are essentially love stories. Secondly, they all celebrate women. Thirdly, the male protagonist is invariably conflicted in some way. It is that inner conflict that creates the tension that drives the plot.

Cara: All your novels are fast paced – real page-turners. Do you write them quickly?

Alex: No. Each one takes about a year. To achieve that ‘pacey’ feeling you’re talking about involves me sticking to an edict I believe in strongly, which is that ‘good writing is rewriting’.

Cara: Your books are very powerful, like they come from the gut. To what extent are they based on personal experience?

Alex: ‘Write what you know if you want to write well’ is a good rule of thumb for a writer and the core of my writing comes from lived experience. Having said that, I really let rip in my ‘Mistress’ books and other stories, and they are flights of wild imagination.

Cara: Tell us a bit about your latest book, ‘Addicted to the Mistress’.

Alex: David Warren has disappeared and confidential investigator Mark Collins has been hired to try and find him. Mark’s search turns into a thrilling personal odyssey as he becomes increasingly drawn into the dark world of erotic domination and submission he discovers the elusive David now belongs to.

Cara: Is there anything about the book you’re especially proud of?

Alex: Yes, it’s the opening chapter. I think it grabs the attention, making the reader really want to know what has happened to David.

Cara: It certainly had that effect on this reader. It’s a great start to a typically fast moving and erotic story. So, what are you working on now?

Alex: I have just finished writing the next book in the series, ‘Mistress of Seduction’. I am well advanced on the one after that, ‘Rule of the Mistress’ while writing copious notes for the one that will follow it, ‘Mistress of Desire.’ So, I’m definitely not done yet!

Cara: Delighted to hear it. Thanks very much for the interview, Alex. It’s been a real pleasure catching up with you.

Alex: The feeling’s mutual, Cara.
