our changing views sex blog spotlight

Changing Views was started to give me a place to post my erotic fiction and poetry and help me explore my kinky side, which for years I had repressed and struggled with. I write about my kinky adventures and muse generally upon sex, kink and relationships. Into the mix I also throw some erotic photography and the occasional sex toy review. It’s very much a personal blog, I don’t pretend to have answers for everybody but I am looking for them for myself.

What’s your blog name/online handle and how did you come up with the idea?
My blog is Changing Views. When I started blogging about the kinky side of life I was very aware that my feelings and experiences might lead me in many different directions and that the views might indeed change. In fact I started out a submissive and am now a Domme with a boy of her own, so in that respect I was spot on. For myself, I’m Caitlin which is a name that just seems to fit this side of me.

Which country do you live in?
I live in the UK.

Approximately how long have you been sex blogging?
I’ve been blogging since the beginning of 2010.

Why did you start a sex blog or reviewing sex toys?
I started because after a sexual dry spell I rediscovered both my sex life and my kinky side and I wanted to reach out and connect with other similar people. I guess I wanted to know I wasn’t the only kinky girl in the world. I figured if I had a blog of my own then other people would be more likely to know I was genuine and to connect with me. It’s turned out to be something I really enjoy doing.

What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
When I write about something that moves me and people comment and share their own thoughts.

Do you use social media? If so, where can we find you?
I’m mostly on Twitter as TwistedPaws but further ways to stalk me can be found on my blog.

Do your friends know you’re a sex blogger?
Some of them yes, I’ve come out as kinky, poly and a blogger to my closest friends. They’ve been very accepting which is wonderful. They’re cool people.

Do you take part in any blog memes? If so, which ones?
I take part in a meme only when it inspires me but I like the focus they can sometimes give a post. I’ve been known to indulge in HNT, Flash Fiction Friday, TMI Tuesday, the Scavenger Hunt and my own Surprise Saturday.

Have you ever done anything specifically so you can blog about it afterwards?
I’ve got naked for photographs specifically for the scavenger hunt but in general, although I’m often planning a blog post as a result, the things I do are for the sheer joy of it.

Share with us a funny or interesting experience that’s happened to you in the course of your blogging.
One of the best things for me is when I’m out with my Boy and we’ll be talking to someone and they’ll casually make a reference to something they’ve read on my blog that I’ve done to him and he’ll blush most delightfully.

Will you still be blogging in 5 years time?
As long as I’m having kinky adventures I expect I’ll be blogging about it.

If not already a professional blog: would you say you’re looking to earn a living from blogging eventually, or will it remain a hobby?
This is definitely a hobby for me. I want what I write to come from the heart, not because I’m looking for the next paycheck.

Tell us about three other bloggers you admire, and why.
My own submissive’s The Prattlings of a Pervert is a blog that amuses and inspires me in equal measure. I liked his blog so much that I bought the company, so to speak.
Domme Chronicles is an blog which seems to me to combine awesome Domme-liness with real human vulnerability. It’s also an absolute joy visually and typographically.
Male submission seems under represented in the blogging world, so Masculine Submission is another blog I enjoy very much. It’s good to know how the other half thinks.

If you review sex toys, what are the top three toys you wish you could get your hands on next?
I’m always looking for good impact toys and this flogger looks wonderful.
I’d love to try this dildo because Babes-n-Horny make wonderful toys but I’m also intrigued by the idea of the feeldoe. [edit: broken links removed 2017]

Who is your favourite adult shopping company, and why?
I don’t have a single favourite. There are a lot of good companies out there, like everything you have to shop around.

Do you prefer blogging fictional erotica, real life sex anecdotes or factual based content such as reviews and advice guides?
My blog is split between all of these and that’s the way I like it.
